I'm staring development on a cuckquean themed harem building strategy game. For initial discussion as to how this project has come about refer to the cuckquean eroge thread >>15040

A brief summary of the game's setting goes as follows:

>Since ancient times, use of digital technology has been mandated only by birthright.

>Past wars have wiped out all full-access users, with the last known descendant having died 84 years ago.

>Mech pilots are the highest access users remaining and constitute the new ruling class.

>The protagonist of our story is a low-access user incapable of operating a mech, who has proven herself as a brilliant tactician.

>Victories against neighboring tribes have won her a high standing within her clan and even caught the romantic attention of an accomplished mech pilot.

>Everything changes however, when the protagonist's new boyfriend discovers his true lineage by accidentally activating a factory.

>By his touch, miracles of wireless communications, automated farms and street lights that have not been powered for a century become real once more.

>Yet all those marvels may someday be gone again, unless a dynasty is established to immortalize this new power.

>It is known that by rules of inheritance a full-access admin is born only from marriage to another admin or a mech pilot.

>The king's harem, filled with cute pilots is instituted as a means to preserve his incredible talent.

>The protagonist cuckquean, now general of the empire, must do her part to protect humanity's future.

The gameplay will be split in 4 phases, three of which are illustrated in the attached concept art.

1 The map phase:

One turn is equal to a month in the game's calendar. A turn is planned by dragging mech pilots to map locations and assigning them tasks. The tasks will vary based on the region and story progression, sometimes allowing the player to search for items, recruit new troops, or modify a mech. This is simultaneously done by the enemy factions in secret. At the end of the turn, if two or more pilots from opposing factions have been assigned to the same region, a battle takes place.

2 The battle phase:

Battles take place in real time. Mechs have a variety of special abilities on individual cooldown timers, so mobile hit and retreat tactics are the intended style of gameplay. Battles have a relatively short duration timer that varies based on the region they're taking place in. The timer in conjunction with high mech durability is intended as a way to prevent fast capture, turning the war into a succession of skirmishes rather than all-or-nothing showdowns.

3 The story phase:

Story segments will be shown in-between game turns based on events that are taking place. Most commonly this phase happens after all battles have finished but before the harem phase starts. Narration and dialogue will be presented in a fairly typical VN layout.

4 The harem phase:

Female pilots will eventually be rewarded for their service to the crown. The harem phase takes place at the end of a turn. Any pilots assigned to the harem will be shown serving the king. I intend to make harem scenes sprite based rather than event CG based, dynamically arranging them every time they're viewed. Pilots can become pregnant and will give birth in 9 game turns.

The state of all of this is still very much a work in progress. If you have any ideas in terms of characters you'd like to see, scenarios, gameplay mechanics, story concepts, related artwork or anything else, I'm open to any and all suggestions. Let's work together to make a game that /cuckquean/ will enjoy.

I am a nobody but may I suggest to change the premise of the storyline somehow?

The reason being a boy suddenly activating a mech related miracle and suddenly being surrounded by girls has been used and is the Primary Theme.of Infinite Stratos. I mean, you can still use the story if you want but for those who knows and like Infinite Stratos like me would think this is a parody game 😂.

If you do consider changin it, I suggest making the boyfriend gains that ability after a system malfunction when he pilot his mech which moderately change his body too. And I like psychological, so why not make the boyfriend feels conflicted by his desire to just give in to lust and fuck all the girls and his strong loyalty to his girlfriend. Never aware that the strong girlfriend starting to develop a fetish of seeing her boyfriend having animalistic sex with other girls without thinking about her.

But as I said am nobody, and this is your game. I just hope you consider my suggestion 😂

In the map phase, will there be elements of upgrading regions like in other strategy games? You know, kinda like in Civilization or Endless Legend or even like HoMM, or will we just be focusing mostly on combat? I think it would be really fun if you could do that, because then the game would truly be strategic in the sense that even if you have been winning 90% of all your battles in the battle phase, you could still eventually lose the war because you were short-sighted and neglected other things.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding and that's what's already planned, but if not then I think that would be a good feature to add to prevent the game from becoming a monotonous grindfest. For example, you could use the technologies you discovered to build mech factories and other military buildings in highly militarized regions, vulnerable automated farms and population centres in safe regions far away from borders, fortifications in border regions, etc… you get the idea.

Other than that, I think this would be a really cool game, I also like the story and setting. What engine is it all going to be based on?

In addition there may be jobs for the pilots to strengthen aspects of their assigned area. There should be plenty to do beside invading, but I don't think there will be any sort of a tech tree you can climb.

The setting is shit, just saying. It's like cheap copy of BLAME! Also, you might as well make the protagonist the guy if you want any hope of reaching a wider audience.

Why not just take a page out of Break Blade? Keep the setting technologically low key, with mechs that can only be driven with people with high levels of mana. The protagonist is a young prince that ascended the throne after the previous emperor was assassinated under mysterious circumstances and the whole realm split into warring factions while other nations are also muscling in on the territory. Your duty is to regain lost land, conquer the shit out of enemies and take all the waifus for yourself.

It's like you were raised by niggers. Out of all possible ways to handle this you had to choose the most cancerous implementation imaginable. There's already plenty of examples of how to handle mecha battles, refer to zhe SRW or Front Mission franchises.

Now this is pretty neat, though it would mean that you'd need to make separate animation for each sprite, as well as the various group combinations, though I imagine you already have some idea on how to streamline the workload.

Why not give the player the option to choose whom they want to play as? It really shouldn't change all that much from a narrative perspective.

Also, you might eschew the standard mech designs altogether and rip off Big Object to justify why young girls are put on the battlefield. Not sure if I understand you, but I think that's exactly what I'm planning on having. The pilots are assigned to a region and given a job which can be any number of things. Sometimes the job improves something about them, sometimes it's to improve the empire.

You'll be able to upgrade and customize them, just not through a tech tree. Technology is scavenged in this world.

OP, you have probably noticed that some of the suggestions abruptly lobbed at you are scope creepers that increase work but give very little benefit to you or to the player. I think you should focus on making a tight game that hews to your original vision, with particular emphasis on getting character chemistry and gameplay loops working well. Ignore the fuckwits who’ve clearly never done anything except be Idea Guys. In particular, take care to preserve a proper cooperative cuckquean feeling.

Also, take care with this thread. A temptation will exist to crowdsource your game’s design which will take away from time spent actually developing it. Why don’t you identify the smallest gameplay loop you can (e.g. combat) and build a disposable prototype of it? That will help you develop your ideas far better than a thousand posts in this thread.

Thanks for the encouragement. I was hoping to start development in pretty much the way you've described, I've already got a basic working prototype of the combat system. I'm reluctant to post it because it's not the direction I want to steer the conversation in this thread. Instead I was hoping to hear more about what you would like to see in the game's sexual content. Are there any character types you'd like to see? Scenarios that they get involved in? What should the cuckquean be like? What should her boyfriend be like? From the last thread I've already gathered that monster girls are a popular trope here, so I've started writing a monster girl tribe into the game. That's just the sort of information I'm trying to gather.

I know that both of you feel like this is taking away time that could be spent making artwork or coding, but I think that it's important for me to establish a solid foundation so that I'm not just making a game for myself. For me personally, I like the idea of giving the players the luxury of choosing how the boyfriend will be. However this may be harder for you as it means you SHOULD make a multiple ending and choice system. For example; in 1 ending he stays loyal and reserve, in another ending he choose his harem over his GF now wife and she is happy for that, and in another ending he becomes apathethic person who view sex only as a job and no longer feel anything for the girls. Thats just a suggestion for idea, you can develop more if you want but as I said it may be harder for you…

Also I do agree that you shouldn't overthink what the posters here said, this is your game, you have the right to make it however you want. But I do still think you need to change the premise of the story. A guy suddenly get a miraclous power with convinient excuse in mech world is too cliche XD

Also don't think too much about customization. Making this a VN with a gameplay should be fine. You don't need to burden yourself with costumization unless you want to

Oh and as for the cuckquean herself, I'd like to give a suggestion. Have you ever read Kangoku Senkan? The heroines there are mostly female generals with high status and are super confident. Why not make the cuckquean be an arrogant woman who have a lot of pride in herself and her body as well as super dedicated to her work. So she will be conflicted by the need to choose between her pride as a woman to keep her boyfriend to herseof or her dedication to her job, which is strengthening her allies with his help…by sex with other women while gradually accepting the situation and even enjoy it, although she will resist admitting it.

I am absolutely willing to help you with the story if you allow me to. Though I am sorry I can't help much with the system DX

The second part was about the sprite based sex scenes. You're still a nigger for wanting to use Unity and make the battles real time. In the original version of the story there would have been a large cast of male characters and the player could pick who they wanted as their love interest. That version got no votes in the poll, so I'm guessing lover customization is not that popular of a request.

Thank you for voting. The poll for the game's protagonists is now closed. The female lead poll was dominantly in favor of option A. The male poll was a lot more split. The main design path for the male lead will follow D with some of C and E mixed in personality-wise. I am still open to suggestions to narrow down exactly we want the main characters to be.

As mentioned in the OP, I intend to make the game's scenes sprite based and animated. Attached are some of my first sprite drafts based on the poll's results. They feature the game's two main heroes and a couple of pilot vixens.
