I agree, but again as I said the thing that will just "click" and make most people listen to you even if it may have absolutely no substance depends largely on where you're from. For example, I live in one of the many Slavshitlands and people who speak English while faking a posh British accent are perceived as extremely arrogant and English people as a whole (or to be exact the middle to upper crust of the society) are seen as arrogant, we even have a saying which literally means "stop pretending to be English", but figuratively it means someone who pretends they don't know something in order to hide the fact that they are directly responsible for it. To some parts of America however, if you speak in a posh English accent it means that you're smart and intelligent, arrogant too, but it's not the defining impression that they have of it.

To expand more on that, there's 3 dialects in my country's language and the standard language, then each dialect has a rural and urban variety (there's also local varieties of each, but those aren't relevant in this argument). Basically, if you speak perfectly in the standardized version of the language and are able to do so without slipping into some things that outs you as a speaker of any dialect and without obviously forcing it by using weird sentence constructions or using foreign loanwords, you'll be perceived as smart, however if you speak any of the rural varieties of a dialect, you'll be perceived as dumb. I speak from first hand experience because people thought I was the next coming of atheist science Jesus when I was doing presentations because I can perfectly speak the standard language, but outside of official settings I just speak the same way I do in my home village and people think I'm some subhuman dumbass barely fit for polite society.
