Now that is another weird thing about TTG, somethings are from the comics (which I should read anyways) and the show IS somewhat funny if you really consider the first cartoon and just superheros in general.

One episode that I thought was funny was one where everyone on the team points out that Robin has no real powers. And Robin goes through a lot of shit to actually get them. That really got to me, because it's something you never consider as a kid, "Why is a boy with no powers or enhancements doing with a demon, an alien, a human shapeshifter, and a quadruple amputee cyborg? Why do they even listen to him?".

But I very fondly remember one of the first videos I saw of him. He was reviewing Chicken Little and I think I got recommended to him because I saw a few of that Pizza guy's videos.

And I remember Chicken Little, I even had a friend who had that as a nickname because he kinda looked like him. But I remember watching the review and struggling to not chuckle when he really got fired up over the movie.

Shit, I forgot everything about the movie but the commercials. This guy just tore into that movie like fucking buzzsaw and it was fucking fascinating. This is what gets me about him. He acts like the people making shit shows are not aware that it's shit and need him to point out why it is bad. You will often hear him say something along the lines of "people who know what they are doing" like the things he points out are some proper analysis.

The truth is that sometimes you have to shit something out to get the job done. A network might give the studio a pittance to work with, or sometimes the people just don't give enough of a shit to care. And sometime it's just a straight-up scam where an executive grabs a big cut of the budget for himself and has the studio shit out something to barely fulfil the contract (Rapsittie Street Kids look like such a case).

Point is that any idiot can see the obvious problems. And you know what? If I was given a minimal budget and had to make a show to fill a time-slot I would use the pandering tactic as well. You get what you paid for.

The art is pretty bland, but not terrible. For a bi-weekly webcomic, it works just fine.

The jokes are on par with something like Garfield. Benign, toothless and and elicit little more than a shrug and an "I get it" from the reader.

The world building is the most interesting part, but I also think it's the comic's major downfall. On the one hand, it's interesting to see how much thought was put into this world and how it works, like the architecture being weird and designed for kids. It borderlines on "high-concept."

This is why I thought the whole premise was stupid to begin with. When you start to ask even the most basic questions everything starts falling apart. I guess it could have worked as a series of short skits where you just take it for what it is, but when you try to tell stories there need to be some rules about how the world works that make sense.

From what I understand the children still act like children and adults act like adults, but the responsibilities are reversed. It makes my head hurt on so many levels.
