The backstory behind this is that Eating Stars Studio approached CN's middle eastern branch (or some other animation channel over there) and pitched Emara to them. But CN said they'd have to pay for the production of Emara themselves. So they did, and when they gave it to CN, CN told them they would have to pay them to air it. So Eating Stars tried finding some other place to air it (there was a petition to get it on the Netflix's Middle East branch) but were unsuccessful. Putting it on youtube was their plan B. I hope someone notices it and picks it up. I know some people here don't like Netflix, but I think Emara would do well on there. Just look at how they improved Legend Quest.

Yeah that's called CN Arabic, they're not a studio they're simply an arabic-dubbed equivalent of regular CN, although with a different better show roster… I can understand them not being able to produce the show, but getting paid to air it? They can fuck right off. CNA is sustained through advertisements and has been for years, having Emara would have definitely gotten them more ads and exposure.
>I know some people here don't like Netflix, but I think Emara would do well on there.
In a western country, maybe, but not in an arab one. Netflix isn't that popular in my country and AFAIK it's not popular across the rest of the arab world either, most people still watch regular "free" public access TV which is sustained by ads. I can think of a few reasons why; the lack of internet speeds fast enough to make web streaming a regular thing, or the convenience of public TV censoring inappropriate material (nudity, sexual content, excessive violence…etc) and providing arabic subtitles for everything, or us being behind the times like always.
I think youtube is the best option, the studio can have as many ads as they want on it and it will be accessible to both arabs and westerners alike.

Basically there's a lot of "best of CN" shows, meaning old shows that proved successful in the west but are yet to be introduced to the arab audience (since CNA opened in 2010).
Off the top of my head:
>Tom & Jerry (40s originals + Tales)
>Looney Tunes (40s originals)
>The Smurfs (original)
>Batman TAS
>PPG (original)
>Dexter
>EEnE
>Courage
>Fosters
>KND
>WN Scooby Doo
>Ben 10 (original + sequels)
>Chowder
>Flapjack
>Lazytown (original)
>Pingu
>Over the Garden Wall
They also sometimes aired films from the franchises mentioned above, in addition to general PG films like Free Willy and the original Wonka's Chocolate Factory, which was nice…
They also air some of the new shows cancer but without the SJW pozz. At one points they were only airing SU reruns of old episodes because the new ones had gay propaganda so far up the ass they couldn't censor it without butchering them.

I was interested in seeing what they came up with but I didn't expect it to be that good.
Animation was dynamic, if not so smooth, and there were lots of mouth positions. Strong anatomy too.
Emara has a better combat reparte with Dhabian than Sailor Moon has with Tuxedo Mask, the mother was a fun character for the brief time she had to shine, the villain was a good amount of dastardly for episode 1. And there was no fix-it button a la Miraculous Ladybug.
Writing and VA could have been better, but it accomplished the most important thing a superhero show can do: I want to see where this goes and I want to know more about Emara's origin story

I've always said that new shows we're annoying as fuck due to fast pacing nowadays.
I think it's because they know their shit isn't good so they want to segue the fuck out of it before the kid notices how unfunny they actually are.
This has come to a secondary negative effect. My little sister watches the "Barbie in the Dreamhouse" shorts and whenever I'm with her I can tell that most of the jokes ARE funny but they go by so fast you can't actually enjoy them is kind of a mood whiplash so most of the written and relatively smart jokes are ignored and the only things that are noticeable enough for the kid to laugh about are the very visual lolsorandumz gags. So also hinders comedy taste.
And as I've experimented with my little sister, their patience and taste for more slow-moving movies/shows think Spirit/Planet Treasure/The Hunchback of Notre Dame/Gargoyles/ possibly things like Malcolm in the Middle or Married with Children in the future leaving them prime to enjoy shit like Minions or The Big Bang Theory that besides the animators everything about it is Low-Effort and cheap to produce.

Serious question? Pretty hard, because most if not all good ideas are already taken.
Want to make an action show about a half human half robot fighting crime? Too bad, Generator Rex beat you to it, and before it Inspector Gadget, and before it countless animes…etc.
It isn't a bad thing by design, because people adapt ideas differently. Some factors come into play like the age and culture that the creators live in, things like that affect the work and make it different (for better or worse) despite its core idea not being unique.
Emara adapting visual cues from other animes doesn't bother me, they're not why I'm watching the show to begin with. I like the idea of the show and I'm curious to see how the arabic mindset plays into the story. You might not feel the same and that's fine.

No.996472

That's the tricky thing about it, though. Every idea has already been done, every type of scene framed in every way, every character design basically done hundreds of times over. Technically speaking there's really no such thing as TRUE originality, only reinterpretations of those old ideas. Personally though, I'd say it's overall better because even if, for example, you only rip off the general design of a character, that doesn't nessecarily mean this new character would be exactly the same at all, you have plenty of room to make something truly cool and interesting. Doomguy and Master Chief for example look very similar (read: the same) to eachother, but both have wildly different character and motivations.
>>996267
Okay, good point. But I was actually talking about the first episode itself. I haven't seen anyone list any and all ripped off scenes from that. And I think there's a clear cut difference between a bunch of arabs pureeing a bunch of scenes from other anime shit into an intro and something like Steven Universe, where everything about it from the premise (Legend of Mana) to the character design (Rose is Madoka, Jasper is Vegeta, Garnet is like Ruby from Yu-Gi-Oh!) to many of the fight scenes (The Holo Pearl fight is just one of the many examples) and entire fucking episodes (Beach City Drift is a shallow Initial D (((HOMAGE))) ) are ripped off wholesale. And even if it DID rip off a bunch of shit from all the anime, it's still genuinely entertaining and leagues above SU. Not that that's saying much, mind you.

All these "copying examples" on that tumblr post are bogus anyway, a bunch of vague similarities to other shows is not copying.
<oh look THIS show has a gang robbing a jewelry store, THAT other show ALSO has a gang robbing a jewelry store! must have been COPIED!
<a female character holding her glasses? some other character already held their glasses once before! PLAGIARISM!
<you can't take inspiration from [generic anime pose]! anything remotely close to it is STEALING if it's not made in japan!
And that's all in the opening sequence only, the opening of the first arab-made anime in existence that was meant to pay tribute to the anime shows that inspired it to begin with.
>but muh flinging shit on twatter
I can overlook the autistic screeching of some animators working for a studio with 0 funding and 0 PR, as long as they're not shitting up the show.
You fags are literally no different than a bunch of tumblrinas getting triggered by a show because some guy on it said "offensive comments" on social media that hurt their feewings. Go shit up some other thread.

The pacing is a bit wierd and the voice acting isnt what I would call good but better than 90% of the trash out there so. Dialogue is bad to, but its made by sandniggers so.

This is how far cartoons have fallen, some Middle Eastern autists who are fans of anime can make a better cartoon than what most of the industry shits out.

I would personally like for this to become a full series, but knowing arabs this will most likely become a "ramadan series", meaning 30 episodes meaning lots of filler… But I have hopes for this studio even despite the sperging out.

Superhero called Azzam. He's a "nature knight" but other than that I don't know anything about him because any material talking about him is in Arabic.

Why do people have such a barebones understanding of politics? The Third Reich saw the importance of Islam in the Middle East (and not outside of it) because it could be used as an unifying force for the various then-enslaved by the Britbong people living there. Secondly, Hitler spoke highly of Islam and his middle eastern allies because of realpolitik: it could've been a fracture point in the Commonwealth, which ended up being as he correctly predicted, much like how the mistreatment and murder of Ukranians and other Slavic people did Hitler in on the Eastern front.
Conversely, communists despise all state religion and would rather have a world dominated by their doctrine, but they were also smart enough to realize that the shift towards a medieval kind of Islam was all the (((Amerikike)))'s fault and plan (not the actual Americans, mind you) and hence supported old secular states over the revolutionary ones, unless said revolutions helped further their hegemony over Asia.
Also it's funny how ideologues conveniently forget that Natsocs and Soviets were at a time allies, or how the Soviet Union realized that a Communist China would spell doom for the rest of the world and sought to destroy and undermine Mao (who in turn hated the Soviet Union) or how the Nazis at some point were also against Fascist Japan because (even assuming the Holohoax meme is true) their treatment of pows was so barbaric that they had to intervene in some way, or how the Allies had recorded plans of a full scale invasion of the Soviet Union even before WWII or how Operation Unthinkable is a thing, or how the Soviet Union brutally raped and killed millions of Germans, but so did Britain and the world is none the wiser and hadn't been for Americans being the last civilized western nation at the time there'd not even be a Germany today, or how the West understood the importance of Fascism as a counter attack towards Communism and Zionism and sought to promote Fascist dictatorships in South America as well as leaving Franco alone (despite being an actual fascist and not just a LARPer) or so many little details that are as important as knowing the main ideologies of the belligerent countries.
It's almost like history and politics are a much more varied and complex matter than a bunch of anonymous shitposters can understand.
