Speaking of edgelord and garbage, The Batman Who Laughs is the worst fucking series I've seen in a long time and completely pisses over Dark Knights Metal. The twists are shit, the art is shit, the story is confusing (Batman becomes The Batman Who Laughs… but not really… but now he does… and now he does even more… and now he gets injected with a toxin to turn him into The Batman Who Laughs… wait but he was already turning into him…).
I just wanted to let it out, because some asshole keeps reviewing garbage comics as if they were the most amazing thing ever.

In Dark Knights Metal, it's established that there is a negative Multiverse that keeps getting erased. Several Batmen are created in that universe why events going wrong. There's an evil Flash Batman who steals Flash's speed force, saying he's incompetent. There's a Doomsday Batman, infecting himself with the Doomsday virus after Superman goes evil. There's a Green Lantern Batman who gets the ring after the death of his parents and starts to kill people etc.
And finally, there's Batman who kills the Joker, who in that universe is filled with Joker gas, so he turns into the Batman Who Laughs, who gathers all those evil Batmen to take over the regular Multiverse via Crisis of Infinite Earths McGuffin. And he's got several cannibal Robins on chains, yes. Those were the victims of him re-enacting the Wayne murders over and over again in front of Batman. That's all there is about him, it's just a better scheming Joker with the fighting skill of Batman, basically.
But the comic series The Batman Who Laughs is all about him, turning him into a Gary Stu with unclear abilities. The mask turns out can read people's thoughts or something, which is dumb. To defeat him, Batman has to become The Batman Who Laughs himself for some reason, and the only one who understands him is Gordon's insane son… it's utter garbage. In the current issue, Gordon wears the friggin Batman Beyond costume, which is for some reason finished in present day and available to anyone, AND fits Gordon for some reason. It's so stupid.

Yeah when I saw the Batman Who Laughs design I also thought, what kind of weird edgelord Hellraiser garbage that is. But it's just a design and he doesn't do any edgy things. He's not even that important in my opinion, since the true villain is someone else.
But his comic series fleshes him out with all that cringy garbage you'd expect, and I don't even understand when and where the events take place.
Oh and his comic also has a henchman who's a Punisher Batman named The Grim Knight. Because the 90s weren't terrible enough.

The truth of the matter is, like any trigger-happy soldier, he just uses this persona mostly as an excuse to kill people, not because of his family.
