‘SpongeBob SquarePants’ CG-Animated Prequel Series ‘Kamp Koral’ Greenlighted By Nickelodeon

http://archive.fo/IJ87V

>Nickelodeon has given a 13-episode series order to Kamp Koral (working title), a spinoff of the network’s signature series SpongeBob SquarePants. While the mothership is a classic 2D cartoon, the offshoot will be a CG-animated series, which serves as a prequel to SpongeBob. It introduces 10-year-old SpongeBob SquarePants during his summer at sleepaway camp.

>Earlier this year, Nickelodeon, under new president Brian Robbins, announced it is developing for the first time ever spinoff projects for SpongeBob SquarePants characters. Kamp Koral marks the first such project to get a green light. It is slated to begin production in June at Nickelodeon’s facilities in Burbank.

>In the series, SpongeBob and his pals spend the summer building underwater campfires, catching wild jellyfish, and swimming in Lake Yuckymuck at the craziest camp in the kelp forest, Kamp Koral. SpongeBob SquarePants‘ Marc Ceccarelli and Vincent Waller co-executive produce the prequel.

>“SpongeBob has an incredible universe to expand upon and the greenlight for Kamp Koral is a testament to the strength and longevity of these characters known and loved by generations of fans around the world,” said Ramsey Naito, Nickelodeon’s EVP Animation Production and Development.

>So far, the creative forces behind SpongeBob had tried a CG approach to the characters in The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water, the 2015 sequel to the successful live-action/2D film The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie. A third feature, The SpongeBob Movie: It’s a Wonderful Sponge, is slated for release next year from Paramount Animation.

>The pickup for Kamp Koral comes on the eve of the 20th anniversary of SpongeBob SquarePants‘ debut on July 17, 1999. It will be marked with Best Year Ever, a tribute that includes an original one-hour special, SpongeBob’s Big Birthday Blowout, premiering Friday, July 12.

The plot twist. Hillenburg was actually being secretly targeted by the NWO because he was the man who created the single biggest source of memes on the internet.

Hillenburg's ALS is fake. He was given pills by the pharmaceutical industry who were in bed with Nick for the purpose of killing him. In one of his interviews back around the early 2010s before his ALS was announced, he mentions that he was too old to work for SpongeBob which shows early signs that Nick poisoned him.

What does he mean by this, because Spongebob's entire universe can be summed up in "Just like the normal world, but with fish people."

I think the universe can be expanded upon but this would require taking liberties to tell a more interesting story, but Nick wants to play it safe so you can forget anything interesting coming out of SpongeBob. Hence why Nick scrapped the old plotline for It's a Wonderful Sponge which would have been an actual interesting children's film people would have watched even if it had post-movie's terrible style of writing to ruin it.

I think a good comparison to SpongeBob's world can be Mario's world and how Mario's world is a terrible setting for RPG games. SpongeBob is the same way.

Back when Squaresoft made Super Mario RPG there was only two places in Mario's lore to make an RPG with, Bowser's Castle and Mushroom Kingdom which is actually even less locations than Season 1 SpongeBob.

If they were to pull the spin off route correctly, the safest route that would likely gain positive reaction by fans would be to make the SpongeBob SquarePants meme anime into a reality which at least has something close to something resembling demand even if most people who want a SBSP anime are only doing it for the memes. The other option would be to give MM and BB their own show with new voice actors. However, Nick's greed and poor track record would have already killed any interest for any spinoff since the only thing you would get from these out of touch executives would be Planet Sheen style train wrecks that no one would watch.

More News from Nick shows that they are working on 12 untitled spinoffs. Kamp Koral is the first of many of Nick's plan to transform the network into a real life version of the SpongeBob Fanon Wiki.

See, I thought about that, but the hallmark of Baby X cartoons is that it’s the familiar characters made into children/infants. Tiny Toons have new characters, besides, Baby Loony Tunes is a thing that exists. Giving it more thought, I would have to say A Pup Named Scooby Doo is the closest to passable a “baby x” show can get.

To be fair, there's no competition for animated game shows. (Despite that getting thrown out the window with their spin-offs.)

I still like the first season. The animation is as good as it gets for a Canadian show, but it was different at least. The problem is they kept trying to do the same thing over and over again. (More importantly, they kept the same contestants for most of it. Why? That's not how game shows work.)

>>1064763

Aren't most Canadian shows funded by them due to them not wanting too much American/foreign shows on their networks? (I'd agree with them wanting Jewish propaganda off their stations as much as possible if their own garbage was any better.)
