Hey anons, found this while randomizing my night lecture of comic and the story looks interesting while the art ain’t that bad eithera bit ascetic at times and is trying hard to be chosen as a kikeflix show IMO seeing how the comic is kind of huge 30# I’m gonna post the first couple of them and see if anyone want to read it, if so I will keep going otherwise I will be a faggot and just read it by myself.
Anyway What if the biggest serial killer of our time were all born in the same city? How people will deal with that kind of information? What will people outsid ethe city think? What happens if someone want to investigate on this connection?

Have been fetishized since the 80s and 90s as well. You think Elvira or Buffy is "current year"? I mean the cop girl in this one runs into a tree while trying to scare off a bunch of rednecks and can't shoot for shit. I'd say she's believably flawed.
The teenage chick though? Most definitely but we haven't seen as much of her yet.

Thanks for dumping. I'm curious to see the rest. The art feels adequate, maybe trying too hard to be Mike Mignola at times (and failing). Story is interesting, more due to the novel hook than the execution thus far. I have a feeling that the reveal is going to be disappointing but hopefully that's just my natural pessimism talking.

Are you familiar with the concept of the culture war? The idea that society is fracturing into factions with hostile and mutually exclusive memeplexes? To use one model of the culture war this work is painfully obviously blue coded. I don't feel like trying to articulate the full blown formal argument but you can kind of tell can't you? The protagonists are 'diverse' by modern reckoning. The characters who are negatively caricatured are generally members of a specific group and they are denigrated in specific ways. Some commonly held yet false assertions are referenced (Did you know that African Americans are actually disproportionately represented among serial killers? Are you wondering why you didn't know?). No one point is really that egregious. But, to the initiated, taken as a whole it's very obvious where the creators' loyalties lie. Just like how you can probably tell the difference between different cultures' cuisines even if you're not familiar with the specific dish or preparation method.
There's nothing intrinsically wrong with this of course. One of the great wonders of art is that it permits us to experience the thoughts and feelings of even very alien people. However, as the culture war intensifies, you shouldn't be surprised as people react with increasing hostility to media coded for/from opposing factions. It's quite logical for them to expect these works to contain enemy memetic payloads. The easiest way to defend yourself is some variant of Orwell's Crimestop. Deplatforming and SJWism are just one manifestation of this. Unless someone or something reverses the trend all involved factions will either adopt similarly effective tactics or be annihilated.
Welcome to the future we chose, my little nigger.

Soooo the jocks are white guys in a white city in the middle of America? You are looking for something to hate on this for the sake of hating here.
>Some commonly held yet false assertions are referenced (Did you know that African Americans are actually disproportionately represented among serial killers?
Like what? Everyone knows there are maybe 5-8 serial killers between niggers…. otherwise please post the source of your claims
To me sounds like you want to find poz forcing connection that aren’t here. stuff like cpt marvel or any bendis comic I can agree, but here more than a crime thriller there isn’t, perhaps you can say The Blond is the most poz comment said in it muh catcalling is bad but even then they said the same about the theater killer
Perhaps you shouldn’t let them live in your head rent free

So you're just the same kind of whiner as an SJW who can't enjoy a work unless all the positive characters are of a certain group and all the bad character are of another group, and you're looking for any or all excuse to shift the topic on politics so we can discuss cultural identity, race, representation in the media, instead of the actual topic.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks for continuing OP. The teasing at the end of some of the books is hilarious and makes sense from a business perspective. On the other hand the mini side stories were an odd choice which didn't add much to the overall story. And the decision to include the Bendis side story was incomprehensible to me. It totally undermined the tone of the story. They were doing a good job engaging me and then BAM fourth wall / meta stuff which didn't advance the story at all. The scene with Bendis spying on the characters in the hospital was simply surreal. I could practically hear him giggling childishly as he drew.
Looking at the art reminded me of something. In Vanishing Point Jason Cheeseman-Meyer raises a good point about the difference between an environment and a background (pic related). The artist has provided some good examples of that principle in action, as well as some less effective examples.
Look at 3rd pic in >>1051247 . That's great. I really like the panel where the viewpoint is looking through the shelves at the character. It's claustrophobic and cluttered. That page does a good job of establishing a sense of place, a unique location. But as the conversation between the two characters proceeds we get a lot more 'just talking' shots and the characters get a little more divorced from their environment thus dissipating some of tension which was built up in favor of exposition. It isn't horrible by any means (the character picking up and examining the miniature electric chair is a great touch) but it feels like a little less than what we got before.
Similarly, look at 3rd pic in >>1051266 . That's a great establishing shot. It creates a sense of mood without going full blown S P O O K Y. The scale of the characters feels right too. They aren't dwarfed by a cyclopean tomb. Instead the perspective shows the mausoleum the same size as the characters and looming a little above them. It's subtle and appropriate for the tone of 'serial killer graveyard in the daytime' without falling into the temptation to be 'A HAUNTED GRAVEYARD'. But when we get to the gunfight we lose some of that atmosphere. Once again it isn't bad, but I do get the sense that the fight could be taking place in any wooded graveyard, not the particular one we were introduced to.
To be fair there are definitely sections where the artist pulled it off. The flickering light sequence in the morgue was arguably a little gimmicky but I think it worked. The scenes with Nailbiter cooking were good too. I liked the use of focusing the viewpoint on the bloody meat with the characters in the periphery. You'll notice how he echoes it in the first panel of pic four of >>1051257 in addition to using it as a segue from the knife attack shown on the previous page. I didn't consciously notice that in the first reading but it was well executed. 2nd pic in >>1051981 deserves special mention. If you'd just described that page to me I'd say it sounded very 'art school'. But in practice the jarring composition change worked well to inform the reader that something different was about to happen and build tension.
Looking at something like this I do have to wonder how much some of the creative decisions were influenced by budget, schedule constraints, and Bendis apparently having a lot of juice.

> this reading comprehension
I'm not criticizing the comic. >>1051818 was curious about >>1051775 's reaction to relatively anodyne story elements. I'm describing (what I think is) the dynamic at play where people recognize and react to social coding in content. The work isn't perceived as offensive in the conventional sense of an element being beyond the pale. Instead consumers are decoding contextual clues in the piece and categorizing it as being "of the enemy". I think this phenomenon is proliferating and will continue to proliferate unless something subverts the vast impersonal forces driving it. Trying to defend specific story elements as if I'm saying their cultural coding is intrinsically bad (I'm not) or saying that I'm an SJW (I think everyone is being driven to be more like them) misses the point.

mate, you are overanalyising this shit…. he is just a shitposter that no comic will ever be good, take his comment and paste it on the SvsTFOE thread, the trump titans or the QM thread fuck its probably more suitable for unbrella acccademy than this comic, it wouldnt change much in the context… he is a typical newfag that says everything is shit to fit in /v/ unironically have tons of those poster, and if you point it out they will call you shill or (((them))) or whatevr being unable to back up the claims done in any way since its just parroting. as you pointed out the art style isnt terrible and the pace at times is even nicely done
making any claim without backing it up like the other anon did is just useless and being a contrarian for the sake of it unless its a previusly approved comic and sometimes not even that
i kind of agree that people are starting to be oversaturated by representation every movie have to have a faggot, every movie have a stronk grill, every movie have to have a funny white sidekick but you need to distinguish between proof based comment, like the one you just did, pointing out when the comic is good and when the comic is bad. otherwise is just crying wolfin reverse i suppose, where there are tons of wolfs but you still cry when a sheep pass by
look at third pic here >>1051951 thats a typical bendis shit, lots of WORDSWORDSWORDS in a page. it almost takes you twice the amount of time to read that single page then the rest of the issue or >>1051949 last pic, where he is curb in a corner where no one question why a 40somethign fat bald man is spying on people those are actually reddit tier pages, fuck that entier issue could be removed and nothing will change
>kikepedia
but anyway, as the page confirm 56% of serial killers are still white, and therefor there is a huge differance in representation since it should be almost equal, tho the media tells you otherwise simply cause white people are the majority and they know it therefor they want to scare them, even the notes at the bottom says that between all the serial killer the one going after blond chicks are more in the spot light….. we could probably confirm this bias by going to a nigeria or a brazilian or a japanese site and see what representation they use, i can bet my lunch money that it will be niggers, uhe and gooks as serial killers but im not gonna do that since this is clearly off the rail from the thread

As is, the jacking off the same questions for too long in the middle, the unanswered questions and the stupid ending with the retarded sequel bait dropped my rating of this a lot.
It really grinds my gears when thinking about the ending for 2 minuted makes me question the validity of it completely. As is, they drop the big reveal too late, they obviously didn't think it through and all the characters take the conclusion at face value when there are apparent contradictions.

I'm willing to accept this as a suspension of belief thing, they acknowledge it in the climax and there's plenty to hint that the nailbiter has something going on, like when he crashes that car, and his nonchelantness while being hung.
>why did the doctor explode from the injection of red stuff
I thought he clawed his face up.
>The Old Pain had bee powers because reasons
It might tie into the immortality thing, might be sequel bait, but yeah, this wasn't explained in the least.

I'd also like to add "He gets found out because he flickered the lights at one point." What a completely retarded way to get discovered.
Also what the fuck was with the aztec shit?
In general I feel this book was well written and well presented, but the overall story has some pretty big issues with it and seemed to be made up as it went along while only vaguely following an outline.
