There's a TTG and TTG to the movies thread, but I figure that no one who would actually care about this would look at either of these.
This is the ending of TTG to the movies. It could be just TTG making fun of the old fans again, but with all the reboots recently, it's also possible it could be shilling for that. Not that that's particularly exciting either, in this day and age. But I still figured it's relevant.

Oh it's relevant alright, you can chalk that up as yet another victim of the current reboot trend, unless this is just a tease and nothing comes of it.

Apparently there are articles out there that said that if the movie does well, then Teen Titans S6 will happen, and note tweets like pic related. Which isn't just an edit; you can find the actual tweet on her twitter (albeit under piles of anti-Trump tweets).

So cartoon network is holding what people want hostage and demanding that they throw money at their low effort shit. I really hope this movie fails, but I bet the budget alone is gonna make them return a profit.

As much as I would like a season 6, I don't know if it's worth it anymore. I think the show itself ended on a good note, and giving it a reboot makes the show more vulnerable to current trends and politics.
The last thing I would want in a Teen Titans reboot is additional tranny and forced "diverse" characters. Hell, I could see them making control freak some kind of Alt-Right/Trump Supporter/fedora wearing villain. Plus DC's latest offerings haven't made me very optimistic at how well they can handle any of their IPs.

Fans would chimp if they didn't get as many of the original production staff in as possible. Quite possible to get a bunch of DCAU guys back as they don't do much any more. Murakami hasn't done anything major since Beware the Batman, and he said he had a S6 completely plotted and half scripted.

It wasn't a cliffhanger, though. Things Change was written as a send off to the series and was meant to be saying it doesn't matter if that was or wasn't Terra, what matters is that Beast Boy move on with his life and the life of the team regarding Slade/Terra.
It's not a cliffhanger at all and had the show been kept alive for a 6th season or the not told early enough to make the finale, the ending was meant to be another giant team up episode in which Robin realises he needs a more flexible team, leading up to S6 having a rotating cast of all the past honourary Titans swapping in as the plot called for it.

After the horrible treatment they've been giving this IP with TTGO, the TT films with Bruce's shitty son, the new comics, and those other shitty TT projects, I dread the thought of a season 6 in this day and age. Sure, 7 years ago I would've loved the idea so much I would've kiss CN's ass for eternity. But after seeing TTGO drag these characters down to such a shit level and seeing the original voice actors act like such obnoxious and self-important assholes on twitter (especially Tara) has really turned off any interest I might've had in the franchise. Only way I'll consider the idea of giving a potential S6 or TV film a chance is if the staff of the original show returns with Glen Murakami and they avoid social media at all costs like the Samurai Jack staff did. Its not like they have anything better to do now that their TMNT got canned and replace with the new mediocre shitfest.
>the movie bombed
So this shit is dead then? Part me would be partly glad they won't rape TT any further, but what the hell was CN thinking in making a fucking TTGO movie? Sure, little kids love the snot out of that turdtoon, but none would beg their parents to take them to see 2 hours of fart jokes and degradation.
>>1013137
All signs point to Jason Todd. He's basically just a re-imagining of Red Hood/Red Robin.
>>1018199
This. And I barely liked Season 5. Things Change was honestly the best way to end the series, and the TT comics that followed it (while mixed) were a good way to continue the show's legacy and end it on a decent (yet somewhat weak) note. Season 6 should've been Starfire's arc, basically a longer version of Betrothed.

True, and I loved that film for all its worth, but something about the ending Things Change really strikes home for me. Maybe it because it felt more like a sad but heartfelt goodbye, while Trouble in Tokyo felt more like a happy new beginning that promised more. Things Change felt like a good ending that gave me and the show real closure even thought it wasn't as good as Trouble in Tokyo, whose uplifting and charming ending just made me want more.

So is that enough to convince them to begin work on season 6? Because I realized another issue as to why a season 6 may not work. TT worked great because of how limited it was in using DC IPs to avoid making any unneeded connections with Justice League which was airing at the same time, forcing the show to be as original as they could. If they do a season 6, I worry they'll try to put in too many DC references and eliminate the sense of uniqueness the TT setting had. Hell if not for major well known DC characters like Robin and Kid Flash, most normalfags probably wouldn't even know TT takes place in the DCverse.

It's enough to convince them to create more TTGO! seasons and movies, honestly.
No one went in to the film expecting S6, though I'd imagine a significant portion of the money did come from people who wanted to support the film just for S6; easily under 5% though.

An average story in TTG is 10 minutes long. The longest story is The Night Begins To Shine, which is 50 minutes (5 episodes) long, but there is also another episode that foreshadows it, so let's say that' 60 minutes.
Teen Titans Go To The Movies is almost 90 minutes, so they did put effort into it, just because it's so much longer.
