Can't stand those. There isn't a sweetener that doesn't give me gas, diarrhea, nausea, or an aftertaste that sticks with me for a day and a half. Plain old sugar might not be the healthiest, but it's still better than that shit.
If you want to loose weight, eat less carbs and more fats and proteins. Also, try to keep them in one big meal as opposed to many small ones (intermittent fasting). It's that simple.

The problem with that is that its blended with Erythritol (no calorie sugar alcohol) which causes gas/bloating/nausea etc. I've never seen any stevia in stores that didn't contain erythritol with it. You might be able to buy pure liquid stevia extract online but i've never seen this in a local store. I admit i haven't looked too hard for it though.

Yeah, some people find stevia to taste like bitter licorice. When it comes to nan-nutritive sweeteners, I like erythritol. It's not perfect. It can have a cooling effect when it dissolves, and it's not as sweet as sucrose so you need more of it.

I used to drink a lot. Bushmill's white label was my go-to stress drink, before I hit a really rough patch in life. Then it became something of a daily ritual, to add two or three shots of Everclear to a glass of Coke and fuck around on the Internet.
I've sobered up since then. My new stress drink is coffee, light roast if it's in the morning or decaf if it's in the evening. If God assured me that I wouldn't slip right back into alcoholism, I'd murder any one of you to have a glass of whiskey right now.

Sweeteners (and HFCS) mess with insulin sensitivity and may actually be a factor in type 2 diabetes. You muricans haven't lived until you try Cola made with real sugar.

If your tongue thinks it's sweet, your pancreas is probably going to agree, even if there's no glucose. => insulin secretion without glucose => messed up insulin sensitivity => type 2 diabetus.

Insulin secretion will cause the same amount of beetus with or without glucose actually there. It's the total amount of insulin that causes it, not wether or not there is actually glucose that needs to be disposed of.

Insulin secretion's purpose is to eliminate excess blood glucose, transforming it into usable energy. Insulin secretion without that glucose is worse than insulin secretion with glucose.
Type 2 beetus means the body is no longer sensitive to secreted insulin. Guess which one of the above causes that?

BOTH. Excessive insulin downgrades the receptors whether or not there is actually glucose there to be taken up. The only reason insulin without glucose is worse than insulin with glucose, is because it can make you hungry to force you to raise your now low blood glucose. When you eat, your body has to raise insulin again. If you didn't give in, the beetus factor would be the same. It's the amount of insulin secreted that matters, not whether or not there is actually sugar there for it to take up.
