Let's talk eschatology. Most folks in my denomination are amillennial, and based on Luke 17:20-21, I'm fairly convinced as well. But this is a new topic for me, and I'm sure there are things I haven't considered.

Your eschatology flows from your hermeneutics. The historical-grammatical method ("literalism") is the only consistent way to interpret scripture, and will always make you premill.

>Most folks in my denomination are amillennial

What denomination is that?

Post-trib premill is the correct one, Revelation talks about how people will go through the great tribulation.

I think you're right, but pre and post trib is definitely a harder question that intelligent honest Christians can disagree on

Pre-trib doesn't make any sense though unless you completely ignore Revelation 7:13-14.

>13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? 14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

Yeah I'm not sure about their answer to that, but many theologians I very much respect are pre trib and they talk pretty persuasively about it.

We should try to find the very best argument in favor of each position, maybe a book recommendation for each. Anyone here read an eschatology polemic you recommend?

>literalism

You mean to say that you interpret everything in the Bible literally?

>What denomination is that?

No. Literalism is the mostly pejorative term I was just adding for context. I don't take everything as literal.
