The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

In this thread i am looking to engage with believers who acknowledge the imperfection/corruption of the biblical compendium. How does Christanon bridge his/her faith in God and the Messiah, with a book they know as a man made object.

I have my own ideas about this, but i am interested in the persective of others and how they came about this conclusion while having kept their faith. Perhaps you reject certain books in whole or in part, perhaps you accepted books that are not accepted in the biblical compendium.

As i myself tend to write things i have recieved through spirit, do you write as well, and as such how do you treat your own writings? Is it personal, do you share it? (i would perhaps consider a new thread for people to post their extra-biblical inspired writings, here i simply want to discuss it)

Ofcourse anyone is welcome to comment, and all questions are welcome. No accusatory derogatories please, when i discuss matters of faith i commend clean speech.

The perfect and ultimate revelation of God is not a book, it's a person who died and lives.

what's imperfect/corrupt about it?

Absolute subjectivism. Accepting that the Bible can be wrong means that you have no authority to point to when the chips are down. You're just making it up as you go along, quite literally.

Of course the alternative is Papal or Traditional infallibility to plug gaps if you feel the need. I forgot to mention that apostolic Christianity puts stock in the authority of its Bishops and traditions as well.

My pastor explained how to consider authority to me as a 3-legged stool, of Scripture, Tradition and Reason. All 3 counter-balance each other and inform each other, so that when pressure is put on one by worldly forces, say Scripture has an imperfection, Reason and Tradition come to save it.
