What is atonement according to the Catholic Church? i'm going to become catholic sometime in the fall? I want to know as much possible. Want is also /christian/ view on it? I have started becoming christian a few months in the spring I want to KNOW the lord

You only go to purgatory if you dont confess your venial sins. If you confess all your sins (both mortal and venial) you skip purgatory and go straight to heaven.

Actually learn what Jesus' Church believes before you spout your foolish man made traditions, prot.

Jesus allows us to take part in his presence and grace because he would be in heaven. We fast and do other forms of penance because Jesus told us to do it while we waited for his return. Read the Bible sometime this stuff is all in it.

The easiest thing to do is develop a devotion to the Brown Scapular and Rosary because those will insure you have a Priest at your death bed to hear confession. You still have to keep a certain amount of Grace and Devotion for them to work though just wearing one isn’t enough.

Basically say the prayers learn about the Saints who went before us and Praise the Lord God and his Son Jesus Christ daily at all hours and minutes.

The Eucharist is not the sacrament of redemption/reconciliation. In fact, one must not take the Eucharist while in a state of mortal sin. Catholics must be forgiven of sin first before taking it. Implying that it is the equivalent of reconciliation is the very definition of bearing false witness. Do you prots still believe that’s a bad thing, or have you scrubbed the Bible of that too?
