The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Thread to reflect on the mysterious ways God has worked in your life. I'll kick it off:

> Live in western country where men generally don't wear jewellery

> Out of vanity, buy a rosary bracelet, because religious jewellery is generally OK, though I am not Catholic

> Decide to learn the Rosary so I could explain it if asked

> Gift it to a relative after she expresses an interest (she's a semi-practicing Catholic)

> Find myself on the train, praying the Rosary using Asian finger-counting to count out the decades (can count up to 144 in base 12), actually meditating on the mysteries

> I don't have a bracelet anymore and I pray the rosary

Through actual vanity I am praying more, and the object of my vanity is gone

Yeah God does that.

>be into /fringe/ occult heretical stuff

>start mediation

>start to see some weird things

>suddenly someone grabs and yell “You shouldn’t be here!”

>a few weeks later I start going to Church again for the first time in years

My only issues now are the reparations I am paying but I am glad to receive them because it means the Lord cares about the salvation of my soul and has forgiven my sins. Thanks be to God.

You wouldn't believe me even if I told you. All I can say is prayer to saints and angels is very important. The priests who are dismissive about it and say it's not necessary are very wrong.

I'll listen. What have you got? I'm really curious?

The day of my confirmation this year (Catholic) I went to the local bookstore to get myself a gift. While perusing I went to the Bibles and picked up the pocket Douay-Rheims edition of the Bible to see what the font was like because I had the same edition but in standard size. When I opened it up my left thumb was directly underneath the Asperges and it immediately caught my eye.

>Psalm 50:9

>Thou shalt sprinkle me with hyssop, and I shall be cleansed: thou shalt wash me, and I shall be made whiter than snow.

I recall it being such a profound moment that it struck me as the obvious work of the Lord. All through my conversation I had prayed ceaselessly for purity and virtue to overcome the lusts of my past life. The Lord followed through and made me whiter than snow - I no longer even feel the temptation of mortal sin, but detest it altogether. Christ prayed for deliverance from His passion, that the fourth cup would pass from Him, and likewise we must endure our trials in order to be purified by the Lord's grace.

This is one of many instances, so many so that I began logging them. It seems at every point in my life the Lord has been looking out for me in a special way. Take note of such instances anon and you'll be granted the peace of the Lord.

This is something small but it just let me know God was there.

>grandad was dying

>use the song "Turn! Turn! Turn!" by the Byrds as a comforting method

>the song is taken right out of Ecclesiastes

>on his funeral the pastor reads those passages

Skip ahead to the denoted part if you want the short version.

>Be me, Catholic

>On trip to visit sister in surgery with my dad

>Visit an Orthodox Church to learn more about it

>Have pleasant conversation with the priest

>Visit with sister goes well (she's recovering nicely)

Here's the important part

>Thinking about fapping when I return home from 4 hour drive.

>Realize I haven't prayed my rosary and that if I don't now I won't at all

>Have a pleasant time praying my rosary in the car

>Arrive home, realize that I can be on time for Confession, which I thought I wouldn't be able to make it to because of the drive

>Upon returning home immediately go to church

>Good confession

>Decide to stay for Mass

>Get to have Communion after thinking I wouldn't be able to for another week

>tfw God gave you an even better day than you would have ever expected.
