The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

How do I make a living by creating Christian content online? I want to be like Paul who lives off donations of the faithful

43a4cf  No.810838

"Paul" as in St. Paul? I don't think he went into preaching for the money.

I don't know anything about influencing, but you might want a better role model. The Apostle Paul didn't live off of donations. He made traveler tents for a living. He asked for donations for the church of Jerusalem who were suffering at the time, but not himself or Barnabas. In 1 Corinthians 9, he said this to try to show he was more trustworthy than the people who were badmouthing him at Corinth while he was gone. He knew he had the honor of an Apostle, but never took advantage of it. In other passages besides this, he talked often of suffering in hard work as well. If you read between the lines, you have to feel sorry for him actually. He had a very hard time working, getting persecuted, badmouthed by supposed fellow Christians, and then hurt and frustrated by the very churches he planted. Then eventually killed.

>"Am I am not an apostle? am I not free? have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? are not ye my work in the Lord? If I be not an apostle unto others, yet doubtless I am to you: for the seal of mine apostleship are ye in the Lord.

>

>Mine answer to them that do examine me is this, Have we not power to eat and to drink? Have we not power to lead about a sister, a wife, as well as other apostles, and as the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas? Or I only and Barnabas, have not we power to forbear working? Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock?…Nevertheless we have not used this power; but suffer all things, lest we should hinder the gospel of Christ."

>I don't think he went into preaching for the money.

I'm not either. Don't get me wrong I'm not looking to make huge amounts, I'm just asking how to make a modest living wage by spreading the word of God.

>The Apostle Paul didn't live off of donations

In the first century all Christian preachers made their living off the donations of the faithful. Paul says this:

>This is my defense to those who sit in judgment on me. Don’t we have the right to food and drink? 5 Don’t we have the right to take a believing wife along with us, as do the other apostles and the Lord’s brothers and Cephas? Or is it only I and Barnabas who lack the right to not work for a living?

>Who serves as a soldier at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard and does not eat its grapes? Who tends a flock and does not drink the milk? Do I say this merely on human authority? Doesn’t the Law say the same thing? For it is written in the Law of Moses: “Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain.” Is it about oxen that God is concerned? Surely he says this for us, doesn’t he? Yes, this was written for us, because whoever plows and threshes should be able to do so in the hope of sharing in the harvest. If we have sown spiritual seed among you, is it too much if we reap a material harvest from you? If others have this right of support from you, shouldn’t we have it all the more?

I don't want to be rich. I want to earn my living by doing something I'm passionate about, spreading the message of Christ to the modern world.

Just make jewtube videos?

What kind of content would be good to spread the message of Christ in this secular world?

144df3  No.810869

>>810866

I think anything is good as long as you do it with passion. Top Jewtubers always say that regular uploading and persistence is the key, and I guess that's only possible with passion.

Look at other people who create content online and live off it: first, you have to create it, be passionate about it. After about a year of hard work, you can start seeing some returns through Patreon or your donation method of choice (Patreon can be problematic, but it's also the easier to attract people to). After about two more years of hard work, you may earn enough to go full time.

Now, what kind of content do you have in mind? YouTube videos of you talking about Christian stuff. Will you make art? Will you make a podcast?

>YouTube videos of you talking about Christian stuff.

Probably something like Bible Project or Return to Tradition. I'm not good with art so I'd probably need to hire an animator to make some graphics for my voice over but it would be more or less stuff like Bible study, how to live a good Christian life in the modern world, Christian history, lessons on the teachings of various saints, etc.

Pick something you're confident you can make good content of. It may be Christian news (though alternative news commentators on YT is a bit of a saturated market), Christian theology, History, whatever you want. Make sure it's something you know about, something you can actually teach others. The quality of your stuff is the most important thing here.

Consider hiring people. There's this war history channel called Baz Battles. He is an excellent animator and writer, but isn't a native English speaker and his accent is horribly thick, so he hired a voice actor. Watch a bit of one of his videos, then go to the first ones he's published and compare the two voices. A bit of investment can go a long way. If you're doing the talking, get a decent microphone; sound is always more important than video.

When it comes to growing, Binging with Babish and Tierzoo come to mind; two channels that grew really quickly. How did they do it? Good quality, an established formula from the start and cool, enjoyable content. And, of course, social media presence. The JewTuff algorithm is not gonna give you the views, you'll have to take it to forums, like posting it here and in reddit. Yes, you'll have to go shill in reddit. When you get views, it doesn't matter if they're from proper people or from redditors: you want quantity over quality, so reddit is the place to get views from. I imagine you may also have to go to Facebook, join groups there and share your videos (if they're facebook friendly). Keep in mind that going this route requires borderline professional content from the start: you better know exactly what makes a good video and how you're gonna deliver that.

Other than that… it's hard work, really hard work that requires an awful lot of dedication. I honestly feel I should try to discourage you. To have any chance of success at all, you should really really want to do YT videos; not just for a living, but for the shake of it. But who knows, maybe you have the perseverance that is required. If that's the case, I wish you the best of lucks.

Be like Dr. E.Michael Jones.

He got fired when he was a professor at Saint Mary's Catholic College because he was against abortion.

Then, he started his own magazine/journal (called Fidelity Magazine, which has changed it's name to the current Culture Wars magazine), and then he has written a lot of books and sold them. Finally he got very active in those current years and got a huge organic base.

Now, I'm sure that E.Michael Jones is someone very intelligent and especially extremely dedicated and real thirst for the truth (and not money) and that not a lot of people could follow his intellectual journey like he did, but it's an inspiration to say the least

Here, he did an interview and how he began his magazine in this 20 minutes video.

Do it by breaking the modd. If there's too many podcasters, try game dev or animation.

Just like any other content creator who gets anywhere: Provide some value. Make things that people enjoy and make it good. For ever visible content creator you've seen online there are thousands of mediocre/bad ones.

Study writing, screenplay, acting seriously. Paul became weak to reach the weak and strong to reach the strong. So too must you be outstanding to reach anyone.

Content creation isn't a job, it isn't even a fad or nepotism-esque lucky shot, it's a lowly pursuit imo as a goal in and of itself. You can do it as a hobby but never ever EVER expect to live off it.
