The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

A local church which claims to be a normative charismatic Protestant Church is making people wear red capes during baptism. I’m a little confused here, I don’t know of any Christian sect which makes adults wear red capes during baptism.

Do any of you know what denominations or sects or the like do this?

Baptismal clothing is pretty much universal. Never heard of it being red, but I don't see why it's an issue.

While this is true, it's usually something white, to symbolize purity and cleanliness. I cant help but wonder why red. Is it a fashion choice, something to differentiate themselves from the tens of thousands of random protestant churches there are, or does it have a symbolic meaning?

BTW, great pic OP. Hegel is the most clear incarnation of the arrogance of self-proclaimed intellectuals and the very real evils they cause. He doesn't get anywhere near as much crap as he deserves.

I really doubt the Bolsheviks were reading Hegel, maybe some Nazis were. What's so important about him?

I'm not too educated on all of this, but I'm pretty sure that Marx was a Young Hegelian at some point, so Hegel effected the guy that was probably the most important to the Bolsheviks other than some of the Bolsheviks themselves.

feb237  No.801495

the reason for the connection of Marx to Hegel is that Hegel supposedly came up with the idea that there's a thesis, and then there's an antithesis, and they form a synthesis, and supposedly somehow the Marxist esachaton is the synthesis of pre-industrial and industrial modes of production.

People also say Marx somehow turned Hegel's ideas around in the same way they say Hitler took the swastika from the peaceful Buddhists and flipped it over.

In reality, Marx was against Christianity. Christians believe that no one knows when the end times are and no one should even try to predict when the end times are, and no one knows how many will be saved. Marxists believe that Heaven is pie in the sky when you die and instead of striving to be a good person you should put all your effort into overthrowing capitalism and creating communism.

Christians believe that the poor we will always have with us. Marxists believe that the poor are created by the rich alienating them from the fruits of their labor. Christians agree that depriving the working man of his wages is a sin that cries out to Heaven for vengeance, but Marxists aren't interested in justice, they want "social and economic justice" to be established through redistribution, i.e. theft. Of course, right now, there are rich people who steal everything from the poor, but since those rich people say all the right things and the poor have "White privilege", Marxists side with the rich.

Archbishop Fulton Sheen had a lot of things to say about communism 50 years ago, in vids like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8qqZup3Bg4

Nazis did not steal the swatstika from the Buddhists. The swatstika is a symbol that existed in almost every culture, even precolumbian ones

Nazism was in large part designed to be a refutation of communism though.

anon, is about the domino effect started by hegel

is not saying that nazism is the same or continuation of the ussr,

Also withouth the menace of the soviets Hitler probably wouldn't have much reason to rise to power.
