No matter how much I try to turn from sin, I don't feel peace of mind whatsoever, in fact I become depressed and then end up going back to sin. I have no problem believing in God and in everything. Perhaps it is Satans doing, it probably is but it is powerful, I become miserable and unhappy, my heart sinks, it becomes such a heavy weight.

Is this a test?

I don't have a rosary. I often thought about buying from Ebay but something just seemed off about buying religious items from some huge corporate entity like that. I plan on visiting some Cathedrals soon so hopefully they sell some.

Bro, it's kinda normal. However, when it comes to battling sin, one thing is particularly important: being in the state of grace. Being in that state gives you more weapons to battle sin because once we're in mortal sin we're cut away from God's grace and sin just piles up.

If you feel particularly tested, say the st. Michael's prayer a few times a day (it's purpose is protection from evil and sin, st. Michael cast satan out of Heaven) or if you're up to it you can pray st. Michael's chaplet

I personally attest that the prayer works. In my dreams 2 times I felt strong demonic presence and I couldn't wake up and I started saying the prayer and I all was well. The second time it happened I couldn't even remember the whole prayer so I just repeated the first 2 sentences lol.

tldr - go to confession regularly, pray for st. Michael's help

Btw if you buy a rosary, be sure to have a priest bless it.

Well, you're in that stage where you're caught up between the spiritual and the world. On the one hand it seems plausible that you don't actually like sin, and that Christian authors are right, but on the other hand, sin sounds awesome.

Keep at it and you will slowly realize that the pleasure of sin is pretty shite, although you will probably do it still a few times more just to "make sure" yeah, Satan's pretty crafty like that

As another anon already pointed out, God gave you 10 fingers for this express purpose. But, imo, a better alternative to even that exists.

If you have a smart phone, download the Laudate app. Not only does it have a virtual rosary that will teach you and guide you how to pray the rosary, it also contains a plethora of other things like: prayers, chaplets, bibles, vatican documents, etc.

I highly recommend it.

If anything, you should be supporting a company that sells rosaries, because there is very good chance that you are supporting a good christian help support his/her family.

Remember, the physical rosary it's self is nothing more than a tool, a weapon agianst sin and vice. The holiness comes from the paryer not the object itself.

This is absolutely a test.

Dispair is itself a sin. It’s a surrender to the power of sin over you and is born of a misunderestimation of God’s desire and power to forgive sin. It’s like if you wanked all over yourself and then decided not to clean up your mess so you’d remember how disgusting masturbation is and how bad you should feel. Now THAT’S gross, my dude. You can conduct no good busniess in the world like that. We all fall short somewhere but clean up, admit what you did, and endevor to avoid sin and near occasion of sin. Once you have examined what brought you into that cycle and have reoriented towards grace, confess.

What will bring your heart joy is stopping any cycle of sin at any point and endeavoring by any means available to restore yourself to grace. We all have some means. There’s a whole internet with open. Turn on your porn blocker and have at it. Saints ftw.

When is it not? Consider getting yourself a rosary from cordbands.com, if ebay's offensive to your sensibilities. It's a catholic business. I got myself one of their rosaries when I was in the service and it was definitely beneficial to have.

While you're waiting on that make time to regularly attend confession and talk to your parish office secretary to make an appointment regarding getting some spiritual direction.
