The Edomites are more than likely extinct. In Scripture, God promises to be angry with them forever and to cause their nation to have eternal poverty. A couple centuries of that and Edom probably just fizzled out. Edomites were descendents of Esau and his Hamite wives, so being half-Hamite they were probably a dark-skinned people, which makes theories of them being either Ashkenazim or Europeans more or less impossible.
