The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

How as a Christian, can you use your religion to cope with things like depression, and hard work, and things where things never seem to get better? Asking as a former alcoholic/drug user who attempted suicide but is still fighting depression/work related issues.

Also motivating and uplifting Bible verses are welcome ITT

we're going to die, meet Christ, and then come back to life

technically, even the damned will return to life, it's just that their time in Hell is called the second death

Gratitude and love (both internal attitude change first, rather than external change) has helped me a lot. I've even seen non-religious doctors say what a difference that simple gratitude makes for people.

Letting Christ into your life is the first step to thankfulness.

"Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.” - Matthew 11:28-30

Is this supposed to somehow fix my depression induced by White genocide, evil elites, bullies, being overworked, low self esteem, and anxiety? I believe in the afterlife and resurrection but really wouldn’t care if death is annihilation. Neither makes me more or less happy.

Praying the Rosary helped me beat my addiction and my depression. It can help you too.

Yes. The trials of your life will be like straw in the coming eternity with Christ. Your troubles WILL end. But your life with Christ will never end.

That's literally the Christian promise.

Philippians 4:13 ESV

I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

Mark 11:22-24

And Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God. Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

James 1:5-8 ESV

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

Romans 15:13 ESV

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

Hebrews 11:1 ESV

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

Romans 8:24-25 ESV

For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.

I wish I were a former drug addict

That seems easier than being an lolcow who's getting harassed daily and family getting bullied. You just keep believing op God is great

John 16:33 always cheers me up. My go to verse when I feel like giving up.
