The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

How come street preachers tend to be either former addicts or have serious skeletons in their closet?

8a3efb  No.783645

Do they?

The street preachers I usually see are just generic looking old people.

If I had to guess though maybe the addicts or the people who have skeletons in their closet just don't want others to commit the same sins they have

One of my coworkers was a felon and currently preaches on the streets, mostly to the "at-risk" youth. He says he found God in those 5 years in prison. I believe him and commend him and his transformation.

Tbh, OP, we all got things we are ashamed of. Felon that got picked up for drug trafficking is no better than a former sodomite in God's eyes. As long as they leave their past behind them and Love God and bring Him good fruit, who are we to judge?

I don't know, but street preaching is cringe and probably doesn't work, these people are better off volunteering.

you're right, what should they do instead

(i) pic related. I don't think that's a universal law.

(ii) Probably because they who understand they have been forgiven much by God, work hardest for God

I guess you could call me a street preacher but I do it on campus. The Lord has commanded us to spread the Good News (Matthew 28:19-20). Also I was an atheist sinner who was spiritually dead. Now I'm saved because someone randomly preached to me and did bible studies with me. Everyone deserves God's love but if no one tells them about it they'll never know.

we're twins separated by a few years. Go with God, brother. Keep running that race and preaching that Gospel!

> Everyone deserves God's love but if no one tells them about it they'll never know.

Amen. Everyone was told by someone else, even if it was their parents or their parent's priest/preacher

>someone randomly preached to me

Was he looking like those guys in OP pic? Or was he more subtle so to speak?

The ones I used to be around with do. One of them even told me he found it addicting hence why he does it. My only issues with them is that some of them can be very pushy and very controlling in personal relationships to the point there were times I either had to or nearly had to go to their pastor to tell him to make one of them stop otherwise I will take police action towards the said street preacher if it happens again or use physical force because they won’t leave me alone. It is a shame though since I usually tend to not find much wrong in their signs or stuff they yell about and I

How come Paul was a former persecutor of Christians?

How come I used to be an unrepentant sinner?

I'm gonna be more controversial here, and say, they aren't really doing scriptural Pauline style preaching.

He would go into city squares and hold debates, with the Areopagites, he marched right into them and spoke to their intellectuals, their philosophers, some might be offended hearing this, but I think a better modern parallel to Pauline style preaching are the youtube/podcast dudes, people like E. Michael Jones.

When anybody and everybody can pick up The Bible and teach from it, anybody and everybody will.

Oh way more subtle. We usually just ask people a couple of questions to see if they're interested

Thank you brother. It was hard at first but now I do it with joy
