No this isn't a troll post at all. I am a Christian who is a fan of metal. I got this shirt, of a band that is pretty in offensive and not an anti Christian band (none of their lyrics reference religion in general). And according to the lead singer, the name came from a BBC radio program he listened to as a kid. Dave Mustaine (who is a Christian, as I'm sure most of you guys know) is a fan of this band as well.

But basically my mum thinks this shirt is anti Christian. I didn't think twice about it since I got the shirt cheap and didn't find the album name offensive myself. I don't listen to blasphemous metal bands, don't even listen to Venom or Slayer.

That's Cerberus.. not exactly Satanic, but Greek/pagan. If you don't feel satanic from it, then it's not.. but it could be a stumbling block for others, especially kids.

I don't feel it's Satanic myself just hoping for other christanon's opinions. Like I said according to the band leader he didn't intend for it to be Satanic.

Good music regardless of the lyrics or the dingbats making it shouldn't lure anyone to any religion– there is enough hardship in life to do that. If your a kid, or know a kid, who is edge lording on the dark side, you need only check their empathy levels to understand the need to worry or not. Satanism is an excuse to behave badly without regret, sociopaths and narcissists tend to use it to point the finger at something other than themselves for their bad behavior, i.e. the devil made me do it. I've been a fan of metal for decades, and never once did it make me want to do anything other than tap my foot and lift some weights. Your mom needs a serious talking to about human behavior and self awareness, the latter you clearly possess.

Well thanks for the advice. I don't know why my mom was so offended by the shirt, she's normally fine with me listening to metal, she even used to listen to it as a kid. My dad's definitely ok with it, he's a Christian too of course. I've never been a fan of dark stuff or Satan or any of that. And I don't know why my mom is worried about me becoming an anti Christ. Like I stated I ignore bands with overly Satanic imagery, or bands that promote sinful things. (Except Motorhead but I don't listen to them very often.)
