Also the restoration of "greek" science and "roman literacy" was the start of the downfall of christianity because it gave birth to humanism. I don't mean those are necessarily bad, but if we start to study them *for themselves* and not in the light of revelation (as Aquinas did) it becomes dangerous.
We're harvesting the results of what were sown five centuries ago, yet we keep on praising it.
