Saudis Hiding Real Location of Mount Sinai, Bible Researchers Claim…

The biblical Mount Sinai is traditionally placed in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, but some researchers say it could be located over a hundred miles eastwards on the Arabian Peninsula across the Gulf of Aqaba.

http://archive.today/2019.02.11-170852/https://sputniknews.com/world/201902111072315126-mount-sinai-location-in-saudi-arabia-documentary/

Ryan Mauro, the national security analyst at the non-profit anti-extremist Clarion Project, and the Doubting Thomas Research Foundation have released the results of a two-year joint search for the holy site in a documentary titled "Finding the Mountain of Moses: The Real Mount Sinai in Saudi Arabia". According to the new investigation, the actual place where Moses received the Ten Commandments is in Saudi Arabia, and the Kingdom is well aware of this fact. The documentary claims, based on several Christian, Jewish, and Islamic sources, that the biblical Mount Sinai is actually located in northwest Saudi Arabia. Ryan Mauro alleges that the Saudi government has been trying to conceal its location from the rest of the world using "fences, police, and a threat of force". He has interviewed locals and reached out to a person connected with jihadists to back up his claims.

Mauro claims key evidence is in jeopardy due to a $500 billion futuristic mega-city project, which is to be built in the coming years. "The Saudis are construction a super city that is planned to be 33 times the size of New York. If all of us don't take action, Saudi construction in the area may destroy key evidence and prevent excavation for the foreseeable future." He has launched a website to try and convince Saudi Arabia to preserve the site. The analyst believes that Jabal Maqla, one of the tallest mountains in the Arabian Peninsula and a peak on the mountain range of Jabal al-Lawz, is the actual place where Moses received the Ten Commandments. He invokes Moses' account from the book of Exodus and cites the blackened top of the mountain, which could have been burnt by the Lord descended on Mount Sinai in fire, as per the Book of Exodus. However, he admits, these could simply be natural volcanic rocks. He also alleges to have found Elam, the oasis where Moses and the Israelites found water after crossing the Red Sea en route to Mount Sinai, and what could have been several other pieces of evidence, like a rock split by Moses or the remains of an ancient altar where the Israelites worshipped a golden calf while Moses was on top of the mountain. "Think of how many things line up with the biblical story right here at this mountain," Mauro concludes, defying a popular theory that the biblical Mount Sinai is located in the Sinai Peninsula. The Saudi Arabian authorities so far have not commented on the documentary.

How many times do we have to go over this? It’s not Jabal Al-Lawz.

You know what, Moeshe? I agree. We should give more money to our greatest ally, Israel so they can not one, but two Mt. Siani's.

I mean, who doesn't want two Mt. Siani's? anti-Semities, that who :^)

Sinai Two: Electric Boogaloo

It may not be that, but Arabia is worth investigating and being open.. for more reasons than one. It's still a likely place for the Midians (Jethro).

Israel doesn't really care about the Sinai at St. Catherine's. It was declared by St. Helen and only a Christian thing in their minds.

The Israelites came upon Mount Sinai very shortly after exiting Egypt. Why would people assume that it was in Saudi Arabia instead of being just outside of Egypt?

Well, that's just it. Where was the exit? Some would say it's the actual Red Sea (specifically the gulf of Aqaba..which exits into Arabia.. where Midians may have been and Moses was originally exiled and met Jethro. OR… some would say Red Sea is a mistranslation and it was actually no "sea" at all, but the lake-like Sea of Reeds that led into a passage north…which basically looks like little more than a rice field.

>the red sea was more like a rice field

How the heck are you supposed to drown pharaoh and his army in a shallow rice field?

Tell me about it. It seems like yet another "higher critical" theory meant only to destroy people's faith and "demystify" the bible. While some trying to play nice with skeptics but don't want to give up faith try to rationalize that it wasn't as shallow in Moses' day.

I'm not sure the route St. Helen and her helpers guessed at though, but it wasn't that.. they believed Moses crossed a large body of water..but then somehow trekked back north into Egypt. Which is better obviously, but still a little strange why they'd do that.

Hence, the Gulf of Aqaba crossing into Arabia, at least for some who hold to a more literal view on what the "sea" actually may have been.

Did they really? What a bunch of senseless vandals.

Most people don't know this, but that big cube (the Kaba) they all visit for the "Haaj" in Mecca was actually a Christian structure once.. and used to have icons of Jesus and Mary in it. Even Muhammad wasn't stupid enough to remove them.. but later Caliphs did. Now they all traipse about it, requiring it to be some holy site every Muslim needs to visit… for no reason whatsoever. They don't even know why they do it.. or know it was once Christian. Just like they insist the mount in Jerusalem is some holy place for them. lol. But for the time being, that's useful, since they troll the Jews from ever building a temple too.

Well they didn’t actually. This rock they blew up was at al-Lawz, which isn’t Mount Sinai. And we know from Paul that the rock didn’t remain at Sinai anyway.

I would have preferred more investigation, rather than taking anyone's word. That's pretty much how Muslims think too.

Paul wasn't talking about the literal rock, but about the rock being Christ..as in the helper behind the Exodus.. as in the Angel of the Lord in all of the OT theophanies.
