Missionary work isn't going door to door. It never was. Even in the Acts of the Apostles.

There are sermons everyday in places called churches, the Internet has shitloads of info on Christianity, the Bible is for sale in every bookshop. If people don't want to convert its their fault, not like they never heard of Jesus before.

Hare Krishna types had "missionary" work as well. Doesn't make them right.

I admit though that (parts of the) Church could do even better.

JW's are a cult that tricks good christians into joining. The fruits JW's make are tragic. I used to work with a gal that was a JW but now she is a super-sloot, a drug addict, and a single mom that resents her child. JWs are a tragedy. Pray for them and hope that God opens their eyes to His glory.

no they don't. However, there are those who spend 8 hours every day preaching. They are called special pioneers. They don't have time for a job, thus they get money for their daily needs. But its not like they get the money for the work itself. its just that every human needs food, clothes and a roof over their head.

Witnesses go out on their free time, and every expense that is required to go from door to door. they pay for themselves. Even their bible studies are free.
