1. For protection from God that they might do no harm upon you and lose their obsession.

2. For the strength to fight them that you might not be a coward unable to stand your ground against them.

3. For a change of heart, that they might let go of their evil ways, and become not your enemy but your friend and advocate.

This is what I pray when I am forced to fight my enemies who just won't leave me be in peace and make it their business to ruin my life and to work evil influences to darken my mind. These three requests held sternly in the heart I believe cover all ground and justify me.

not a bad start, and the 3rd point goes some way to praying the very best for them; a repentant heart turned toward God is the greatest gift, leading to life understanding

that being said, God is the One who justifies, so don't worry too much if all men speak evil of you - if God holds you guiltless and grants you clean conscience, you have peace even if branded the worst of sinners and be pilloried in the streets

How does one reconcile being a soldier with being a Christian? Are these prayers sufficient to go into battle with? Some pacifist Christians shame me for being a soldier.
