Yeah, the guy seems pretty theologically shallow by what you've said.
>I've never correlated Is 53:5 with physical healing but I guess it's a possible secondary application?
No.
Never.
It's "By His wounds we are healed" … from sin.
He doesn't grant healing – and, to be sure, He healed many in His day, and, I believe, still does – by the power of the Cross ("by His wounds") but by the power of who He is: God.
Ez 37:6 is about God "resurrecting" the hopes of the nation of Israel
< The Lord said to Ezekiel these bones are the people of Israel
… but I will also contend it is a foreshadowing of His raising up a new nation of Israel, that is, "while we were still sinners, Christ died for us" in part because:
< I will put my Spirit in you and you will live
(That could just be "breath" since spirit and breath are the same Hebrew (root?) word, I seem to recall.)
Nevertheless, raising the dry bones has literally NOTHING to do with healing, but I will suggest it does have a thematic link to Isaiah 55:11 imho.
Not sure if that was his angle. But, if he's turning that into a story about healing … eeesh … just no.
