"My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me?"

>What could he have meant by this?

>Did he lose faith?

>Did God abandon him at the very last?

Fast-backwards to Psalm 22

What comes to my mind is King David when he was outcast in the wilderness writing those Psalms. Anyways, that's just my take

Being crucified hurts. Also Jesus might have expected that while conquering death thing to be a little bit less uncomfortable given his being divine. Though if you work tbe the assumption he lost faith at that moment and was actually a normal man who died terrified and awake he was wrong without time to confess to his deluded followers who proceeded to buy a lie for millennia, you can. I mean, nobody will agree with you, but you can

I'm just glad Jesus showed up.

>two followers of Christ leave Jerusalem in shattered hearts and souls after their Messiah was brutally murdered by the corrupt establishment

>Jesus walks up to them after conquering death, the world and all of its evils forever

>Jesus walks up on them calm and cool as if it were Monday

>asks them what happened as if he weren't there in the first place

>yanks them on for a good stretch of road before revealing himself reborn

>guys left jawless and their lives changed forever

And they say Jesus never smiled.

There's little to deny.

It could have been all a lie, maybe a lie behind a lie, maybe even part truth or everything really did happen.

But what does your faith say?

I couldn't care less what jews think.

The rest sounds like gnostic pseudotheology and indo paganism.

It was the moment he took on all of our sins and God the Father turned away from him, imo

I think it has to deal also, if not more, with God turning away from us all and then back again.

He was in pain just as king David since Jesus is too a truly human being. And the end of the psalm is an happy ending where David says he trusts in the Lord so they are encouraging words to us.

>Did God abandon him at the very last?

God can't abandon Himself.

Good question.
