Is The Lion King a Christian movie?

It’s not anti-Christian, but it’s also not overtly Christian or even Christian in subtext

Are you the Christian furry from that other thread?

Not the guy, but I am one of the furs from that thread, and I can say i actually feel indeferent to the lion king. Not bad, but not mindblowing either. As for it being Christian, Rafiki is pretty much a pagan medicine man, and Mufasa talks to Simba from beyond the grave. While these may be hold overs from Hamlet and Kimba, they’re not exactly biblical. On top of that, Elton John wrote at least one song for the soundtrack, which could put some Christians off. Still, it’s not any worse then any other Disney film, and I might show it to my kids someday if I ever have any.

Not really. But I like the lyrics of the song 'He Lives In You' in the sequel. It is basically about God. Just in case you guys are too lazy, I will just copy-paste the lyrics here:

''Ingonyama nengw' enamabala

Ingonyama nengw' enamabala

Ingonyama nengw' enamabala

Ingonyama nengw' enamabala

Night

And the spirit of life

Calling

(Oh, oh, iyo)

Mamela

(Oh, oh, iyo)

Ubukhosi bo khokho

We ndodana ye sizwe sonke

Wait

There's no mountain too great

Hear these words and have faith

(Oh, oh, iyo)

Oh

(Oh, oh, iyo)

Have faith

He lives in you

He lives in me

He watches over

Everything we see

Into the water

Into the truth

In your reflection

He lives in you

Ingonyama nengw' enamabala

Ingonyama nengw' enamabala

He lives in you

He lives in you

He lives in me

He watches over

Everything we see

Into the water

Into the truth

In your reflection

He lives in you

Ingonyama nengw' enamabala

Ingonyama nengw' enamabala

He lives in you

Ingonyama nengw' enamabala

He lives in you

Ingonyama nengw' enamabala

He lives in you''

No mountain too great? Hear the words and have faith? Into the water, Into the truth (in case you don't get it, it's the Baptism). Yup, Christian alright.

It's a ripoff of an anime film called Kimba the White Lion, created by Osamu Tezuka, who is one of the hardest working/prolific/craziest animators to ever live. So no, it's more Jewish than it is Christian.

I thought this was debunked long ago…

I'd say, the movie contains certain Christian themes, even if they are not explicitly "dropped" on the viewer. The cultural inspiration for it is more that of an ancient kingdom with tribal elements, but it's a good movie.

It is Hamlet with big cats. Is Hamlet a Christian novel/play?

This and a million other hidden obscene images and messages in Disney movies. This stuff is well documented, how could anybody feel comfortable letting their kids watch this stuff? What kind of people would put this into a kids movie?

306d40  No.732767

People who says the Lion King is akin to Hamlet have never actually read or see a play of Hamlet.

>But some dude kills the king and the prince must

no

Hamlet makes explicit reference to heavens and hell though

That's an understatement, it's the normalization of occult things.

this

It’s actually derived from the legend of Mansa Musa aka The Lion of Mali aka the richest king in history (the Lion King), get it? It may have some aesthetic lifted from Kimba and Hamlet though
