STUDY: Consciousness persists after death…

WHEN you die you KNOW you’re dead, according to terrifying new research with profound implications for world religions.

http://archive.today/2018.11.22-190724/https://www.express.co.uk/news/science/867626/LIFE-AFTER-DEATH-do-you-know-you-re-dead-consciousness-persists-Flatliners

When the heart stops the blood supply to the brain is quickly cut off – and in operating theatres this moment would be recorded as the official time of death. But studies show that the dead person’s mind and consciousness continue to work, at least for a short time – meaning the deceased can recognise their own death. Indeed there is some evidence to suggest the ‘dead person’ may even hear their own death being announced as they lie on the operating theatre table.

The implications for amost all the world's religions which dictate a transfer of the soul at the moment of death are profound. At this point the person would be both dead and alive simultaneously - but well able to realise they were about to face annihilation. The macabre new studies also mirror the plotline of the Hollywood fllck Flatliners. The film follows a group of medical students experimenting with near-death-experiences by taking turns to chemically induce their heart to stop – and Flatline. In the movie the stars experience some form of afterlife but the reality of the new research is SO much weirder and so much more frightening. Dr. Sam Parnia, director of critical care and resuscitation research at NYU Langone School of Medicine in New York City, said people in the first phase of death may still experience some form of consciousness. “Once that happens, blood no longer circulates to the brain, which means brain function halts almost instantaneously.

“You lose all your brain stem reflexes — your gag reflex, your pupil reflex, all that is gone." Dr Parnia and his team continue to investigate the pervasiveness of consciousness after death with twin studies in Europe and the United States who have suffered cardiac arrest, in the largest study of its kind. He said: "In the same way that a group of researchers might be studying the qualitative nature of the human experience of 'love,' for instance, we're trying to understand the exact features that people experience when they go through death, because we understand that this is going to reflect the universal experience we're all going to have when we die.” He added: "We also study the human mind and consciousness in the context of death, to understand whether consciousness becomes annihilated or whether it continues after you've died for some period of time — and how that relates to what's happening inside the brain in real time. "And the evidence reveals that people whose heart stopped and then restarted – usually on the operating table – could describe exactly what had been happening around them. "The new research is an extension of these findings." Dr Parnia told Live Science: “They'll describe watching doctors and nurses working and they'll describe having awareness of full conversations, of visual things that were going on, that would otherwise not be known to them.” Explaining the moment of death he said: “It's all based on the moment when the heart stops. "Technically speaking, that's how you get the time of death."

>heart temporarily stopped on operating table

>brain still picked up some sounds

not the same as being vaporized in an explosion now is it.

Actual death is not the same as the transient operating room version.

>implying neuroscientists/doctors have the faintest idea what consciousness, much less a soul, actually is, much less how to measure such things

This whole thing about "brain death" is such a made-up concept. Was a WashPost (I think) article on the topic that basically said the medical world are pretending they're certain about something they've no forking idea about

Neat. This could mean a lot more people are saved than we think. Because a lot of them might repent in those final moments when their mind is still conscious but their body is considered dead.

Moronic article. If you're still conscious (physically, I.e. not just a self-aware spirit) you are by definition still physically alive.

All it means that the popular medical definition of "death" is wrong (which anyone who knows even a superficial amount about the subject ought to have already expected). Which most immediately challenges the ethical basis of immediate organ harvesting, not any aspect of religion. Literally zero theological implications.

I believe this is very possible. I think a lot of Christ-affirming NDE’s point to this — that there may be a transitional state after medically-defined death during which the person is granted more information/insight about death and the afterlife, and can choose to go to God before the dying process is absolutely complete.

> At this point the person would be both dead and alive simultaneously - but well able to realise they were about to face annihilation.

Ignoring for the moment JW bullshit at the end to focus on bullshit at start:

Death is separation of Soul from the Body. And since Soul animates the body, if your body still is animated, i.e. your brain still is anchor of the mind, that means that you are 100% not dead. It is that hard to understand?

no, you still need baptism to be saved

That's not really "after death", it only means that your brain does not instantly shut down when your heart stops pumping. Yes, no shit, an organ can still function with whatever nutrients are momentarily left in the cells. This has been known for a long time, e.g. beheaded people can still blink or react to their name being said for a short time before the brain finally shuts down. This is a conscious act, not a muscle spasm.

Will you retards stop posting shitty articles. Not only does no one care, but it doesn't mean anything, it's a waste of time to read.
