On this board, Baptists are a contentious topic. There’s a divide between Baptists, who angrily post all day every day, angry about other denoms; and people who have radical frothing-at-the-mouth hatred for Baptists. Whether pro or against, there are also Baptist posts on this board, and they are always the most high-temper passionate threads on this board.

In the real world, none of that exists. Baptists generally just keep to themselves, and maybe evangelize in their local neighborhoods. There’s no deep hatred in Baptist churches, no constant railing against false religions and foreign denominations. On the flip side, they don’t factor deeply into non-Baptist Christian thought at all. I’ve read plenty of theologians talk about different strains of Christianity, and Baptists almost never cross their mind. I’ve heard people list Christian denoms and generally they just forget about Baptists (or footnote them away under fundamentalists or evangelical). There’s no major scholarship confronting Baptists.

For the most part, Baptists don’t bother anybody and nobody bothers Baptists. Why is it so different on /christian/?

As a Baptist, I get into arguments with other denoms in real life because I live in a very liberal area and go to many different churches throughout the week just to see whats what. A lot of the arguments I get into revolve around me bringing up a verse that goes against what someone wants to hear, or "believe". I get angered when a person brings up weak arguments against the things I say and have burned bridges pointing out stakes in others' eyes out of love for them. I would probably chalk this hatred that you bring up up to most people being "Luke-warm Christians" who really just want someone in the sky to say "You're good, don't worry about it." while they continue on without changing.

Baptist here. Just got in from lord's supper service and wanted to comment. It was a great sermon on following what's in the bible instead of following what the world promotes, certainly an important lesson considering the wickedness we're surrounded with daily.

I don't post here much but I'm here enough as I like to read the discussions.

Can't speak for how other people that call themselves Baptists act but I think as Christians our biggest critics can sometimes be ourselves. I know we all have strong feelings on different parts of scripture but at the end of the day I just hope people are saved and love God. That's all, God bless all of you and have a good evening.

This is because most "Christians" aren't saved. If you go out soul winning and talk to people, you will find nearly everyone is trusting in their works, even though they claim the name of Christ.

We hate the false teachers of the world who are making people twofold more the children of hell than themselves.

Any time I say my opinion whether here, /pol/ or in real life, I'm called a "fundamentalist" in a derogatory manner. My views have always been extreme to most people. Now, however, more people are becoming like me and there are less fedoras. Feels kinda nice.

Never understood this term. Aren't we all called to spread the good news? I don't go door to door like Pastor Anderson, but I do my fair share of posting on imageboards. And what better place to try and get sinners to repent? Are anons any less of people to try and save?

I used to not care so much who was what, but after going to several different ones, I have to conclude that non-cucked Baptists are the most fervent about being reactionary. The rest slowly allow themselves to liberalize and apostatize.

We get pooped on for trying to be anal about Scripture, but you can't find more of a stone foundation than an unchanging Scripture, hence the insistence on KJV.
