Is it even a tragicomedy? The only "serious" aspect of the book is Jonah's prayer, and Jonah's 3 days in the fish being a symbol of Jesus's 3 days in Hell, the rest is a satirical shitshow to highlight God's mercifulness as well as the possibility of faith and repentance for those who do not know God fully or even led a terrible lifestyle up to that point.
