Discord is the new irc. The volunteers board themselves up in an echochamber and lose touch with the actual userbase of the board they are moderating. Over time they start to see themselves as above the board users and treat them like a hostile group. This happened with moot and this happened with hotwheels. Now it's happening to this board as well.

I know for a fact bible study person looks up catholic interpretations and plays videos by catholic thinkers yet the mods accuse them of being virulent sectarian based on 1 comment and 1 incident that occurred while they were being dogpiled, that they were instantly ban hammered for.
