Are dogs loyalty and love for their owners an Extension of God's love?

I'd say the way many dogs love their masters is comparable to how some love God, with a childlike faith despite a supreme lack of understanding of the mind of God.

Job was pre Christ. And a lot of the struggles Job was having was because Christ had not yet come.

After Christ the veil between God and man is torn and we can know God through Christ who was also a man.

God is no longer some mysterious unfathomable being because he became a man

>God is no longer some mysterious unfathomable being because he became a man

After being brainwashed all my life into believing OT God was a brutal warlord and NT God a liberal hippy, I still find God quite unfathomable.

>Are you claiming to have an understanding of the mind of god?

Not even remotely. Just that some of us have that childlike faith and love, despite knowing nothing.

Think about Job's statements:

1. He talks about how man's life is short and passes away like the grass and filled with suffering

>post christ man's life is not short - because we hope in the resurrection and eternal life

2. Job doesn't understand the injustice of the world - where good people suffer for no reason

>Post Christ, perfect justice is brought about in the afterlife and during final judgement and this life is merely a seed for the eternal life

Job's questions were only questions before Christ came and gave an answer

And yes the veil between God and man was lifted by christ both literally and figuratively

read matthew 27:51, the veil at the temple is torn in two the moment Jesus is crucified

That's not what Job was asking. Job was asking a specific question, why was he suffering so much when he had done no evil. It isn't fair.

Why do good people suffer.

Well Jesus has a pretty great answer to that. Count it a blessing when you suffer, for great will be your reward. With Jesus we don't live in an unfair world with an incomprehensible God. We know that God will set things right in the end.

The questions Job was asking had no relation to the internal workings of God or the universe and that's not the ordinary use of the words "understanding God"

What we do know is that Jesus said all

Consider again the secrets of heaven and God between new and old testament

Deuteronomy 29:29

>"The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our sons forever, that we may observe all the words of this law.

compare that to Jesus in John 15:15

>"No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you.

"No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, ;for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you.

No more secrets, Jesus told us everything

I know my dad, I don't know how he does his stock stuff that he does, I don't know how the internal mechanics of his body works, but I know him personally and just because I don't understand how his body procesess food and oxygen or how he does his job and some of his functions doesn't mean I don't know him or understand him as a person.

When we say God is not some unfathomable distant thing - we don't mean we understand the internal workings of God. We mean that we can know God personally through Jesus. So he's not distant and unfathomable

Understand the pic. Still represents a demon or Satan himself depending how you look at it
