on one had Jesus said no one can come to him unless the father draws them - which means that ordinary rational persuasion can't work to bring people to Christ

on the other hand we Catholics have the example of Augustine's mother Saint Monica, she brought her pagan husband and Manichaeism son (Augustine) to Jesus Christ through ceaseless prayer over many years

And I think prayer may be the only way to bring people to God since salvation is a work of the holy spirit and the only way to get God to do something is through prayer

while you need Faith as a gift from God, you can definitely reason with people to clear away their reservations and actually accept the gift.

Joke aside, it's normal for you to not share your faith with your family. Remember your salvation is your priority. Live as virtuous life as you can live and if they wish to join you help them but if not there is nothing you can do. You can't con or force people onto the path.
