I clasp my hands together and put my head down on them usually. Whatever's comfortable for resting my lowered head. I'm kinda interested in maybe switching to putting my palms together like they do up on the altar since I always like seeing others do it. I'm also semi-interested in the orans posture for private prayer, even though I'm pretty sure none of this matters for a lay person.

Depends on the situation.
In private: on my knees, head bowed, hands covering my face
At meals or at church: sitting, head bowed, hands clasped in lap
In public: Standing, head bowed, hands clasped at waist level

Before sleep: kneeling, hands folded, head bowed.
Fervent prayer: prostrate, either hands folded or arms stretched out.
