The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

If the girl you were planning to marry told you she'd had an abortion as well as a 6 month affair with a married man before you had gotten together but acknowledged and repented her sin would you forgive and still consider marrying her?

Forgive what? She didn't do these sins against me, she did them against her child and the married wife and the Lord. However, I do reserve the right to be able to choose the woman I wish to marry, and I may have to pass over her for it.

The only unforgivable sin is the one you don't repent about

The best way to handle this situation is you should politely suggest to her that she should live in a traditional nunnery for the rest of her life for the safety of her soul, and then go about your business.

What?

I think a man should. Same way if I were planning to marry a man, but he revealed he had committed sodomy in the past (e.g. masturbation), I would forget it immediately. Like this anon >>709801 I would suggest he live in a religious institution and pray for His forgiveness.

Yes, if she loves you.

Think more about your own sins.

Sometimes I hate the Catholics for statements like this one.

"Woe to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites; because you are like to whited sepulchres, which outwardly appear to men beautiful, but within are full of dead men's bones, and of all filthiness. So you also outwardly indeed appear to men just; but inwardly you are full of hypocrisy and iniquity."

Why call it "unforgivable sin"? God forgives sins, he can forgive anything as long as the sinner repents. There is no unforgivable sin.

The second part of question. Difficult to answer. Probably depends on other red flags out there. If I was deeply convinced it was the woman for me then perhaps I would be able to go for it. But probably 6 months affair with an aborted child would be such a huge red flag I would prefer not to marry the girl.

>muh catholics

>muh Pharisees.

What's wrong with suggesting that? You realize that consecrating your life to Christ is not in vain right? You realize that suggesting it to her is not the same thing as commanding it to her. Why should he be a hypocrite by just saying there is an option such as this? Why is it bad if you do not plan to marry her? It's just stating your opinion.

What are the chances that she goes to a nunnery, anon? So yeah, let us lock her, let us remove her from our sight and pretend she doesn't exist. I am innocent of the blood of your murdered child; look you to it. (Mat. 27:24)

Does OP have the strength to be a support for this girl's salvation? No? Then he is free to leave her and he has to leave her. For which of you having a mind to build a tower, doth not first sit down, and reckon the charges that are necessary, whether he have wherewithal to finish it. (Luke 14:28) But otherwise? We that are stronger, ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. (Romans 15:1)

Are there other, more practical options for this girl than going to a nunnery? Certainly. She shall be saved through childbearing; if she continue in faith, and love, and sanctification, with sobriety. (1 Tim. 2:15) She can give donations to organizations like http://zoeforlifeonline.org. Or maybe God will give her a chance to dissuade another woman from murdering her child. He must know that he who causes a sinner to be converted from the error of his way, shall save his soul from death, and shall cover a multitude of sins. (James 5:20)

Plans would change but it wouldn't necessarily be a deal-breaker. What I would be looking for is a real commitment to virtue and God. I definitely would be in no hurry to marry her and would wait at least several extra years because of this information, if she tried to rush me then I would simply break it off. I would also be paying close attention to her immediate family while on the lookout for dysfunctional behavior.
