>Goliath's stature as described in various ancient manuscripts varies: the oldest manuscripts, the Dead Sea Scrolls text of Samuel, the 1st-century historian Josephus, and the 4th-century Septuagint manuscripts, all give his height as "four cubits and a span" (6 feet 9 inches or 2.06 metres), whereas the Masoretic Text gives this as "six cubits and a span" (9 feet 9 inches or 2.97 metres).[8] Scholars generally agree that the shorter height found in the Greek text is older and more original.[9]
The tallest man ever recorded by modern measurements was 8 feet 11 inches tall. He was also a very lanky, skinny person. Can you imagine someone in the ancient world being nearly ten feet tall, but also being muscular enough to carry giant weapons and wear heavy armor and still remain a formidable foe in a fight? Not to mention, irrespective of the absurdity of the larger height, we also have a wealth of resources that support the shorter height.
So I fall in the 4 cubits 1 span camp
