Non-American here. Can someone explain what's the deal with those black churches? Are they legit or heretic? Do they accept whites and asians as well? Why are they so good at singing?

Also, would you consider Rev. MLK Jr. an example for all Christians? Was he orthodox in his beliefs?

cbed46  No.709553

None of these Black churches are Catholic, so take that as you will.

As far as Martin Lucifer Kang Jr goes, he was an evil communist kike puppet. He was no example for Christians, and his beliefs were not orthodox.

MLK was a communist adulterer, he's a horrible example of a "Christian". The Bible doesn't tell us to separate by race, so they aren't worshiping in truth.

5d330c  No.709560

Since they are protestant they are heretics.

>The Bible doesn't tell us to separate by race, so they aren't worshiping in truth.

If they explicitly state the church is for Blacks only, then yes. But the majority of churches in the US are highly segregated. Somewhere around 80% of American churches have congregations that are 80% or more of one race. Self-segregation is human nature.

The Catholics here are so uncharitable!

>>709538

American, most of them are orthodox but there are some strange ones, and yes non-blacks are allowed to attend

They usually self identify as a "black church". My Church is probably about 60% white, 20% asian, 15% black, 5% latino.

MLK did not believe in the trinity and virgin birth.

>Are they legit or heretic?

Depends on what you view as legit. Black churches got hit hard with the pentecostal craze. So you may find that some churches hold some heretical doctrines.

wut?

We're all sinners, we certainly aren't all heretics.

>he was an evil communist kike puppet

Funny, I keep hearing he was a CIA/FBI plant to knock out the leftist "W.E.B. DuBois" side of the black community. Given this was during the Cold War and even more specifically while John Angleton and J. Edgar Hoover were big dogs in both respective organizations, it seems more of an either/or situation than it would be than, say, right now.

Why are they so heavy on singing and clapping?

>>709560

Aren't Catholic and Orthodox black churches? Are you sure they're all protestant?

5d330c  No.709661

>most of them are Orthodox

Only the Ethiopian churches, which there are quite a few, but when people refer to "black church", it is usually of the charismatic American protestant variety.

And how is stating something true uncharitable?

>>709634

In Africa sure but see above, "black church" is a specific American term.

>Are they legit or heretic?

The doctrine of these churches often seems impossible to actually pin down, a lot of them seem to be mostly about political punditry and fancy music shows. But I'd love to be proven wrong by a solid, coherent sermon from one of these places.

>Hammond organ

What a disgraceful instrument to put in a church.

b8002b  No.709831

>>709661

I said lowercase 'o' orthodox, since they accept the Nicene Creed. Calling fellow Christians heretics because they aren't part of your sect is definitely uncharitable.

5d330c  No.709882

>>709831

I don't see how speaking the truth in uncharitable. Many denoms reject the creed or continue to preach doctrine not of the apostles. I shouldn't have to remind you of what the Lord said about these types of people.

I was being charitable.

>>709587

A non-Christian is a bad example of a Christian.

>>709618

Never really heard that. But yeah, that would be an either or situation.
