The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Lets suppose I have the possibility to cause significant but temporary damage to the infrastructure of an state-run abortion clinic, which would effectively hinder their possibility to perform abortions. I would not get caught and nobody would be hurt.

- Am I obliged to perform this?

- Is it a sin since I'm destroying or messing with state property?

1. ends don't justify the means.

2. you would be taking a hit to your moral status, are you willing to taint your purity in order to do what is good and right? Would you tell a lie in order to save millions? No. Because lying is a sin. And your moral status is more important than what transpires in the real world.

Wow, I'm sure that Bible criticized whore Rahab from Jericho who deceived citizens and hid Israelite spies. Oh wait, no, that absolved, her, is praised in the Bible and even gets to be mentioned in lineage of Jesus.

Don't twist scripture.

Rahab’s lie is NEVERR condoned anywhere in the Bible text. The New Testament writers certainly do not claim that she was “justified” by her misrepresentation of the facts regarding the Hebrew spies.

Lying is uniformly condemned throughout the Bible (see Leviticus 19:11; Proverbs 6:16-19; Ephesians 4:25; Revelation 21:8). The fact is, apart from divine revelation it cannot be proved that lying is wrong. Atheists certainly do not, and cannot (consistent with their philosophy) condemn lying as an evil that is universally wrong.

The case of Rahab is an example of God honoring a person due to her obedient faith — in spite of a personal character flaw (not because of it!!!!!) Reflect upon the story more carefully before you mislead anons.

Lying is a sin.. Only in Christianity is it always an evil and never to be done. Other forms of morality use it as a means to an end, avoid it for pragmatic reasons, etc.

The moment you start lying you deceive others and you may actually end up believing your own lies, self-deception keeps one from God.

That's vigilante justice at best, and terrorism at worst (yes, even if nobody dies). Don't do it, although I agree the idea is tempting.

Pretty sure he means "lie" in the sense in which "lying" is a sin, which is false accusation, slander, tricking somebody maliciously…

Obviously "not telling the truth" is not a sin in itself. Christ lied to His brothers, when He said He wouldn't go to the feast (John 7:8-10). That was not a sin, because He did not do this with malice, but needed to go in secret.

Instead of posting with capslock like an autist, maybe you could start learning how to read.

Attack the argument not the person. Don't use bad words

>Would you tell a lie in order to save millions? No. Because lying is a sin.

Here's a Biblical example of God rewarding people for lying:

>16 And he said, When ye do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew women, and see them upon the stools; if it be a son, then ye shall kill him: but if it be a daughter, then she shall live.

>17 But the midwives feared God, and did not as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the men children alive.

>18 And the king of Egypt called for the midwives, and said unto them, Why have ye done this thing, and have saved the men children alive?

>19 And the midwives said unto Pharaoh, Because the Hebrew women are not as the Egyptian women; for they are lively, and are delivered ere the midwives come in unto them.

>20 Therefore God dealt well with the midwives: and the people multiplied, and waxed very mighty.
