The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Is the story of the Book of Esther an example of how the religion of the Old Testament started to become more corrupt and evil?

To me, it seems like Mordecai and Esther are the first examples of subversion and crypto-jewery.

No, it's a book showing how God still works providentially even if He can't be experienced empirically at the moment. 1/10 do more reading before coming here /pol/-non.

When I read that book I too was conflicted with the way the Jews acted, such as the killing of the antagonist's sons despite me seeing no account of their crimes or the fact that Jews were given legal rights by the King to kill thousands of their enemies inside the kingdom. Also when I read that Mordecai didn't bow down to Haman I saw that as pride on Mordecai's part. Nonetheless, I didn't live in that time and I am likely to be wrong in my opinion of these events.

My understanding is that not everything written in the book of Esther is endorsed by God, just like Solomon marrying many wives wasn't endorsed by God.

To be fair, would you bend the knee to some Muslim? Mordecai wasn't in the wring here, and Haman was seeking their extermination. These weren't Ashkenazi either.
