The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

I am a former Atheist raised Anglican and want to become a Catholic after returning to God. I want to retain some of my heritage and join the Ordinariate of St.Peter but there are 0 parishes in my state. Am I out of luck?

c33b5b No.669351

You don't necessarily have to join the Ordinariate to become a Catholic OP

Go to your nearby Mass and see what it's like

If I have no choice I will, but I would like to retain some of my tradition while still being in communion with rome if its an option.

Why Catholic?

f8f2e0 No.669358

Your tradition is a counterfeit of the Catholic one. Go to a Latin Mass or find somewhere that does a reverent NO mass. They do exist.

Don't turn this thread into a denomination shitpost thread please, there are plenty of those in the catalog

Funny, I'm the reverse - raised in Rome, became Anglican. What I would say is that your best bet is to look for a small, unpopular parish - the weird one that takes theology seriously and preaches hard sermons. They always exist - THAT patrimony, that of the true faith, is more important than the Prayer of Humble Access and Collect for Purity and hallowed with three syllables though those are nice things.

Remember what you are looking for - the faith, not the trappings thereof. Seek and ye shall find.

>raised catholic

>became anglican

wut??

he's probably a phag, that's the main reason why they do that. there's a "Side A" catholic who runs r/gaychristians and was I think a mod on r/christianity who is going to become anglican too for his phaggotry sex too. Feel bad for the guy though, was nominally raised muslim, mom left his dad, got married to a christian guy, he went to live with her for a bit, converted to christianity, then dad disowned him, then became a phag. and people say gay people are born with it. they almost all have massive trauma and daddy issues.

but yeah, people to move to anglican are usually looking for sodomite acceptance. i wish phaggotry could be criminalized again.

Well I do believe it is a valuable anglo saxon cultural heritage but i will try a latin mass and see if i like it

>reverent novus ordo

>bugnini 1962 mass

>Anglican use is counterfeit even though is is based on Sarum rite and tridentine

Only thing wrong with Anglican use is some use of cranmer rubbish and the abomination rsvce used for scripture, whereas they should use Douay Rheims or even KJV is better. They all have their shortcomings which the holy spirit is fixing. Novus ordo can only be fixed by being abrogated though

Anglican use is good, its how the post v2 vernacular mass should have been. Since there are none near you, try to find a tridentine fssp parish.

The FSSP are starting to implement the old liturgy pre-reform, such as resurrecting the old pre-1955 Holy Week

That definitely sucks, but you can always at least try to keep your heritage in your private prayer, devotional, etc. life, if you can't do it in the liturgical life.
