Angels are neither male nor female. They are spiritual beings. They have no bodies of their own. They could take on bodily forms by creating them out of matter, but it would not be their natural body. It woild be something more like a costume. That said, I can't think of any biblical examples of angels appearing in female form.

Angels in female form (like in your pictuee) is not "a traditions of men" (whatever that means). It's just artistic license.

There's many instances of heavenly beings having a radiance about them in the Bible, the golden disc hovering over the head was a result of renaissance trends in art away from depictions of halos like how orthodox iconography does it.
