I'd say that kind of cross obsession is borderline idolatry, if not outright.

I actually don't own any crosses because i'm paranoid I might commit idolatry by mistake,I'd rather play it safe. The OT is just one elongated series of God expressing how much he hates it.

I understand it, when I was a deist I thought people having a cross with Jesus pinned to it in their house was kind of creepy, but I understand now why someone might want a reminder that their day-to-day suffering is not meaningless. I can make do with the art in Church though.
