Why does the Catholic Church claim to have been constantly persecuted when since Constantine 'till recent years it was a dominant power, friend with Kings and Emperors in most of Western Europe and tolerated in all of Europe? I mean, there was some persecution under the Commies, would have been under the Nazis but a concordat was signed and besides a few dissidents, the Church itself wasn't persecuted, tribal rulers and China, but for most of its history, the Catholic Church has been a dominant power capable of shaping the future of the world, and indeed it shaped it.

>but a concordat was signed

The concordat was ignored by Hitler. Many Catholic activities were outlawed. The bishop of Innsbruck for example was sent to concentration camp for allegedly organizing a pilgrimage. Which he denied until his death a couple of years ago.

>and besides a few dissidents, the Church itself wasn't persecuted

This is untrue.

On topic the Church was persecuted often, even in Europe and even when it was formally Christian.. Especially and protestant and other heretic countries like England. But also in Catholic ones with bad rulers like France pre revolution, then it got worse with the revolution. In the 19th century the liberal movement was heavily anti catholic. And so on and so forth. Not even getting started on outside of Europe, where the great Satan USA persecuted the Church, where the dutch supported the Tokugawa shogunate to exterminate Christianity, where muslims and jews teamed up to destroy it. Which they also tried in Europe, when the moors invaded Spain, when the Turks invaded half of Europe, when the Mongols invaded Europe;

tl;dr Beware of the jews and their lies

During the Middle Ages in Europe the Church was in a constant power struggle with the nobility in order to survive. Yes, there was a brief period where the Church dominated (around the time of Pope Innocent III, who was arguably the most powerful pope we've ever had in terms of his secular influence), but for the most part we've always been at odds with the secular culture. The Church has always been and always will be a counter-cultural movement.

Why do you think Protestantism spread so fast? Local nobles finally realized that they have a chance to make a profit from seizing the churches in their regions.

The Renaissance popes were especially powerful in regards to the cultural influence they spread, and of the money they had. Secular power was lacking after the Middle Ages, but secular influence was extremely powerful 'till WW1 more or less, and still to this day some countries have a great amount of Church influence meddling in their affairs (See for example Italy and the taxes that the Church isn't paying for non-religious property and revenue)

Explain the persecution that the Liberal movement did against the Catholics.

Commies did persecution against Christians, Liberals didn't.

There are still persecutions of Catholics in the Middle-east, West Asia and Africa. All those people who died for the faith that we didn't even know. Weeks ago there was a rememberance event of the mass martyrs that were murdered/killed under Anglicanism.

Let's see: Ancient Rome, Protesant England, English occupied Ireland, Pagan African lands, Middle east, China, all the other communist nations that existed, Mexico at one point, Japan at one point, etc.

From time of Constantine we had: Arians, Julian Apostate, Germanics, Slavs, Byzantines, Muslims, Persians, Indians, Africans, Chinese, Japanese, English, Lutherans, Calvinist, Russians, Cossacks, Swedes, French revolutionist, Mexicans, KKK, Nazis, Soviets, Maoits, communist and I am forgeting a bunch of them probably.

In 20th century there were MORE Catholic matyrs than in any other time.

Chastisement is upon us and we live during Passion of Body of Christ. Psalm 37

No. But it's a neat phrase.

Starting from the French Revolution several times liberals tried to annihilate all opposition to their proto-marxist ideology. A very specific example would be the Sonderbundeskrieg in Switzerland where the liberals overthrew the constitution, expelled the Jesuits and demanded the right of investation. All of those things are today pretty exclusive to the likes of China.

> and I am forgeting a bunch of them probably.

The great Satan most importantly.
