I am a follower of the Christian non-resistance doctrine, all the way to veganism. Though I never really argue about it with people, as that is pointless. Some Christians have done so, and others choose not to. I'm not really sure one can be proved over the other, but I know for a fact God allows seemingly both (considering there are Saints who fought in the military and Saints who didn't resist death or evil).
One thing that people often get confused about is that Christian non-resistants are pacifist, pacifist are different. Pacifist focus heavily on military action around the world, and they protest the government about it, etc. Christian non-resistants do none of these things. We focus more on our daily interaction with the world, and do not believe in utilizing the government for any ends. We don't vote, call the police, sue people, protest for change, sign petitions, etc. Our interaction with the government basically begins and ends with following it's laws dutifully and paying taxes when asked (we do not resist these things).
Another thing is they think that they are passive, when the Christian non-resistant answer to problems is to identify themselves with those who suffer. Perfect historical example is this guy: http://incommunion.org/2009/06/23/a-bishop-who-stood-in-the-way/ that is essentially the non-resistant reaction to such things.
The final thing is that they are political (I see it often associated with leftism), when really we aren't really. As we would never be involved with any kind of government other than subjection (or accepting the punishment for disobeying if it violates God's Law), we aren't really on one political side or the other. A lot of them I know have basically abandoned politics outside promoting a non-resistant view when an "issue" comes up, which equally triggers leftist and right-wingers and third-way people for some reason. We just take the words of Jesus as a literal code of ethics, and will follow it to the end (often including things like giving whenever asked, housing strangers, etc).
