I hate how St. Parick's Day in Anglo countries is basically an excuse to get drunk.

I suppose since the Irish were Catholic and moved to Anglo countries, which didn't celebrate Saints then they just appropriated the Irish celebrations of St Patricks Day, especially since England has its own Saints Day but it's not as "cool" to get drunk and celebrate.
