No. It is a thing of death but Christians follow a God of Life.

As long as the priest knows the individual will use the firearm for good.

>>611547

Take your Gnosticism somewhere else. Nothing created is evil. A firearm has just as much potential for good as it does evil.

Why would a church need to?

Everything about this smacks of Idolatry. Which isn't a problem with this "Church" since it's Joseph Smith 2.0

There’s nothing wrong with blessing guns, but Moonies are nuts

18daa0 No.611732

>>611551

The Gnostics held that matter was evil (at least the kind you are referencing) in and of itself. Christians do not hold this idiotic position because of our theology. We hold that matter is good, in and of itself, but has a potential for evil (aka what we do when we sin in it, etc) because of us. This formation of matter (by us and us alone) is a thing of death.

It's not Gnosticism, it is the doctrine of Christian non-resistance. Guns are inherently unchristian and unlawful in the Kingdom of Heaven.

>Should churches hold AR-15 blessing ceremonies?

I don't see why not if it helps you fulfill your Christian duties, like protecting your family. However, this particular ceremony does seem fishy, almost as if making the gun an idol.

>>611547

>thing of death but Christians follow a God of Life.

>God of Life.

"Living God" does not mean "God of Life" - in fact, God kills and commands killing all the time. It means a thoroughly present God, who is always there and always watches and interacts with his believers, contrasted to the many dead gods of mythology, who are sleeping, dead, not in the mood, etc.

None of that violence is needed by His followers, though He tolerates it (so it seems) for those who will.

>It's not Gnosticism, it is the doctrine of Christian non-resistance. Guns are inherently unchristian and unlawful in the Kingdom of Heaven.

New Age idiotism and insolence: You are not the savior, you have no divine task to die for anybody's sins but to facilitate the spread of the gospel unto all nations, with or without guns, with or without killing, with any means necessary.

>it is the doctrine of Christian non-resistance

>Guns are inherently unchristian and unlawful in the Kingdom of Heaven.

And swords in your opinion ? Just to know how far goes your heresy.

18daa0 No.611799

>>611782

Christian non-resistance isn't a heresy, even to the Catholic Church (which I am in the process of joining), but yes, weaponry, all countries that arm themselves, and persons, etc (and this goes also to self-defense, veganism, etc).

a24676 No.611804

>but yes, weaponry, all countries that arm themselves, and persons, etc (and this goes also to self-defense, veganism, etc).

Yes what ? I don't understand you.

18daa0 No.611807

e9438d No.611812

Obviously. Would you rather have a gun that's blessed or one that's not blessed?

a24676 No.611821

>We register our testimony, not only against all wars, whether offensive or defensive, but all prepations for war; against every naval ship, every arsenal, every fortification; against the militia system and a standing army; against all military chieftains and soldiers; against all monuments commemorative of victory over a fallen foe, all trophies won in battle, all celebrations in honor of military or naval exploits; against all appropriations for the defence of a nation by force and arms, on the part of any legislative body; against every edict of government requiring of its subjects military service. Hence, we deem it unlawful to bear arms, or to hold a military office.

You insult the Church, my country, my ancestors.

GET OUT OF MY BOARD GNOSTIC HERETIC FUCKING COWARD YOU ARE NOT CATHOLIC

a24676 No.611824

I shouldn't use the word gnostic sorry, it devaluate the good notion of gnosis.

I said get out.

And don't come back until you stopped being an heretic.

18daa0 No.611836

>>611833

I am not a heretic, and I have discussed with Catholics over these sections of the CCC, which I affirm fully. It is perfectly fine to hold to something personally, while acknowledging that others may very well do differently, in this specific case. I'm well-read on the Catechism, thank you.

>Guns are inherently unchristian and unlawful in the Kingdom of Heaven.

>I am not a heretic

Yes you are.

Why do I had to fall for your bait ?

ae385a No.611844

Better question: Is there a single thing in the world that should not be blessed? And if so, what is it?

Dildos.

Lol it is not anti-Christian to hate guns you idolater. I think guns are fine but to think that is idol-speak.

Only if better rifles are allowed.

>>611758

>However, this particular ceremony does seem fishy, almost as if making the gun an idol

If somebody isn't actually going to carry it, yeah. I could see people just blessing the same rifle each time for show, sticking it in a closet, and then only pretending to care about self defense.

something something plowshares into swords something something muslims

I honestly don't care either way.

They have the liberty in Christ to do so.

Why bless inanimate objects?

18daa0 No.614394

>>614393

It's a common Christian thing to do, so they work better, don't transfer spirits to you, etc. Always bless your house/apartment, and any new items you get. God knows what they were used for before, and only He knows what happened in the places you moved to.
