why do you lie?

I am not lying about praying to Mother Mary.

Regarding "lying", in my life I generally try not to lie.

I was raised Roman Catholic.

I like the Church in a lot of ways. In other ways I dislike the Church.

I still go to mass every once in a while but I was "re-baptized" in a Baptist church and consider my outlook and theology to be primarily Baptist.

Well, a lot of people believe that we give the same reverence to saints or the Virgin Mary that we give to God. That's why I mentioned the terms.

Yes, but I don't like to use the word "pray" around non-Catholics because they will automatically assume we regard the saints the same way as we regard God.

What brought me to Mary was my love for her, or for what I thought were manifestations of her.

The response I felt that I was getting from God was like, "This is my gift to you, and to many other people. My Mother."

Sort of like how God sends angels to people.

I think I trust the Chruch's judgment for themselves. Perhaps not for others but for themselves.

I view the Church as an extremely efficient Sanhedrin or an extremely efficient bureaucratic machine.

I figure if something is part of their dogma, they have a reason for it. They have been calling councils and debating dogma for hundreds of years.

I don't consider myself to be Roman Catholic or Orthodox but I have respect for a lot of what they do.

It is easy to be a Gnostic when you do not have any sort of responsibility to any organization.

There are "prophets" and "Prophets". The gift of prophecy, and of doing miracles, many sometimes be granted to bad men, as to Caiphas, and Balaam. I love this: Western denominations think that Orthodoxy and Catholicism treat saints and Mary as God..because that's the impression they got.
