Can you guys help me respond to Atheism and the city? Specifically These two pages:

http://www.atheismandthecity.com/2017/10/why-im-atheist-13-reasons-arguments-for.html?m=1

http://www.atheismandthecity.com/2016/03/a-reply-to-steven-jake-on-last.html?m=1

The last one is especially long but he makes some interesting points. Could anyone help me understand why his arguments are wrong?

>You're entirely right in pointing out how the notion that God will send us to Hell for not grasping the complex metaphysics scrawled out in tome after tome by his acolytes required for "knowing" him is absurd. This should cause us to be deeply suspicious of the Thomists whole project.

This guy will begome Ordodox before he knows it.

I hope so too brother, but I fear his vain philosophy may erode any chance of salvation and by his blog impede on the salvation of others.

You don't "need" to grasp complex metaphysics to believe in God and most don't to begin with. Ultimately, it comes down to a decision to accept that living a life in Christ's footsteps is superior to one without. Belief in God is not purely a matter of cold logic, like deciding which scientific theory is correct. I came into the Catholic church primarily via logic and metaphysical argumentation, but stayed because I know in my heart that God is great. Dostoevsky remarked that he wasn't sure that God existed but would choose to believe in Christ anyway in the event that God was "proven" not to exist. I'm in the same boat.
