Its such a shame that the crusades failed

e07f23 No.594868

It failed it's main objectives, but not all.

The reconquista in Spain had the character of crusade, and was sucessful. Also the conquest of Cyprus.

Failed. Half of Cyprus is now in the grubby mitts of the Turk.

that was in the XX century. Not related to crusades.

Northern crusades were success too, no?

The Crusades are probably the lowest point of East-West Christian relations in history tbh.

Crusades 1 to 3 saved our asses. English, French and Germans each killed more muslims than the useless Byzantines.

f47895 No.595061

>>594855

I don't think they failed, I think all who killed muslims earned their salvation. It's a shame the Orthodox didn't partake in the Crusades.

The huge success of the first crusade against all odds makes me believe that Deus definitely vulted it. It probably would have been the grounds for quickly mending the schism and restoring the pentarchy but the Latins and Greeks got too autistic and massacred each other so I think God seeing we couldn't unite decided in his infinite wisdom that it was better that we suffer the consequences of schism as a trial and allow the complete collapse of the crusader states and byzantine empire.

I pray this trial comes to an end when England shall convert back to catholicism and then the world according to the prophecy.

there is no doubt

>the city is well prepared and garrisoned

>there's a whole army from Egypt coming to kill us

>what do we do?

>walk around the city barefoot for several days, singing holy chants

>win the siege

Admittedly the fourth crusade was a mess, but the other ones were rather successful.

What are your issues with them?

a35de4 No.595095

a shitty way to expand Catholicism. these people need to fight for their countries, not expand out and make other peoples countries worse. what would an Argentinian know about refuges and immigrants?

And also worsened East-West relations to the point we ended up massacring some Latins after the 2nd crusade, and they massacred some of us in return. The increased contact between Greeks and Latins only precipitated the already sour relations between East and West. The sack of Constantinople wasn't an isolated event, but the culmination of the increased tension caused by the 3 previous crusades.

I'm talking here about the massacre of the Latins in 1182 and the sack of Thessalonica in 1185.

hey I remember you, you are that prot that shitposted about Catholicism on /pol/'s 4chan. Finnish I think, right? You converted to Orthodoxy? The orthoprot meme isn't wrong after all.

Either way the picture on the right is from feminist whitches burning a strawman of the Pope made by them, I am not sure how that would be any proof that he is in hell, quite the contrary actually

Well I wish the Roman Catholic Church saw things that way, especially when it comes to the child abuse cases.

I'm not lying. Maybe he copied the filename from me, if that's how you think you identified me.
