I think that we should get rid of the flags. (No, I didn’t mean fags.) I remember on this board 14 or 15 months ago the flags were a real issue and there was a lot of discussion about it. I have watched this board steadily go downhill for the last year. I think that the flags have a lot to do with it. If I were an uppity atheist or Muslim, wouldn’t it be fun for me to encourage divisions between the different Christians denominations by using the flags to misrepresent the different denominations?

I have noticed that when I post with no flag that the conversation is better and people are a lot less nasty.

What would we actually lose if we eliminated the flags? You could always identify your denomination just buy, literally, spelling it out when you need to. I think it would be very nice if we all posted simply as followers of Christ. I believe it would eliminate most of the things that are poisoning this forum.

I deleted that thread, not the mods. How did you see that? It was only up for like three seconds. There was a miss spelling in the title and the images are used was kind of sucky, so I deleted and I am reposting

I remember the first time I posted with the flag on this board. It was a very significant thing for me as I was finally identifying as a Christian. It is important how you label yourself. However at this point I think the flags are doing more harm than good.

Though your idea is a valid one that deserves discussion, it still is a meta thread outside of the pinned meta thread. I'll recommend that you repost this there, as the moderation and board owner are far more likely to respond to it there.
